Lin Bin, male, Han nationality, born in February 1968 in Guangzhou, Guangdong, is a Chinese-American entrepreneur and currently serves as vice chairman and executive director of Xiaomi Group. From 1980 to 1986, Lin Bin studied at Guangdong Experimental School (now renamed Guangdong Experimental Middle School), in 1986, Lin Bin was admitted to the Department of Electronics of Sun Yat-sen University without examination, and in 1990, Lin Bin went to Drexel University in Philadelphia to study for a graduate degree in computer science. After graduating from university in 1992, Lin Bin worked as a software development engineer at Automatic Data Processing in the United States, engaged in software design and development of network monitoring and management systems based on SNMP and TCP/IP protocols. In 2003, Lin Bin, together with Zhang Hongjiang and Zhang Yaqin, founded Microsoft Asia Engineering Academy (ATC) as engineering director. At the end of 2006, he joined Google as Vice President and Engineering Director of Google China Engineering Research Institute, and Global Technical Director of Google. On November 16, 2010, Lin Bin officially left Google, and in the same year, Lin Bin and Lei Jun co-founded Xiaomi Technology, and served as the president and vice chairman of Xiaomi [2].

Last year, on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of Wuhan University, Lei Jun, a 1987 alumnus of the Department of Computer Science of Wuhan University and founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group, donated 1.3 billion yuan to his alma mater. This donation is the largest single donation since the establishment of Wuhan University, and it is also the largest personal cash donation from alumni received by a university in China. Lei Jun was awarded the Outstanding Educational Contribution Award by Wuhan University.
