Zhao Zhiqian's book "Collection of Vulgar Sayings", fan, paper, 17.5 cm× 52.6 cm, stamped "Bitter and Bitter Room" (Zhu Wen), now in the National Museum of China. The text said: "Thousands of roads are difficult, and it is easy to entertain guests." It's easy to say it, it's hard to do it, it's easy to be an official, it's hard to get rich. If there is no one in the court, don't be an official, you are easy for me. Knowing that there is no meat to sell on the scales, it is as difficult as eating in the world. Set the proverb seven words, get more than ten chapters, the meaning is unfinished, and the complex is this, imitating the single-plank bridge body. In August, the headache was first healed, the left ear was still deaf, there was nothing to do, the case had a banana, and the play book was on it, the so-called one foot returned him ten inches, and eight taels were half a catty. Hanliao. ”

"Single-plank bridge" refers to poems that use the same word as the whole text or more than half of the rhyme, also known as mono-rhyme poems. The content of the text of this fan is a "single-plank bridge body", which vividly describes Zhao Zhiqian's views on life and his helplessness in the face of society. In terms of calligraphy, it is written in its original Wei style calligraphy, which is open with momentum, free to retract and release, and the loose and scattered text forms a strong contrast with the dense small characters, which is the representative work of Zhao Zhiqian's calligraphy.
Zhao Zhiqian once engraved a "bloody man" seal. He has great respect for his mentor Miao Zi, and "he is a lifelong disciple of courtesy". Later, Miao Zi was impeached, and the imperial court took away the ceremony, "no one dares to sue". Zhao Zhiqian, who was a disciple, bravely stood up and angrily wrote "Miao Wulie's Official Complaint" to the capital, and fought hard to complain about his teacher, and finally rehabilitated Miao Zi. This "bloody man" seal was engraved at this time, showing the hot-blooded man's enthusiasm.
Zhao Zhiqian failed the imperial examination four times, but his heart as an official was still intact, and he relied on the help of friends to take the road of donations. In the eleventh year of Tongzhi (1872), the 43-year-old Zhao Zhiqian distributed Jiangxi with the transcription of the National History Museum, and served as an errand in the Provincial Chronicle Bureau for 6 years before filling the vacancy in Renzhi County. Looking back on this experience, he engraved a seal of "looking up at the thousand seven hundred and twenty-nine crane zhai", to the effect that there are as many as 1,729 counties in the country, and it is my turn to be Zhao Zhiqian in the year of the monkey!
In February of the eighth year of Guangxu (1882), 53-year-old Zhao Zhiqian wrote a couplet hanging on the door, quite his mind, the upper couplet is "the prime minister is the great you, half of the Analects", the lower link is "Sikong family law, the fence falls" and self-note: "The young misread, so trapped in the field house." The old toilet vulgar is not flattering. Accept this saying, and I will always regret it. How can it be easy to talk about ridicule. The upper link borrowed the allusion of Zhao Pu's half of "The Analects" to rule the world, and the lower link told the story of Zhao Shi's flattery of Han Zhou and learning to bark a dog. In August, Zhao Zhiqian had stepped down from his post as a new county magistrate to wait for a vacancy in Nanchang and had a serious illness.
can't stammer, can't send money, has a straightforward and stubborn personality, and is naturally not favored by his superiors, so he can't get fat. In a letter to his son-in-law Shen Ziyu, he said: "He Guanzhi's excavation and transfer to Jiangnan have recently been restored to Peng Li, and he has been transferred back to the province to be led by the water filling division. 2,000 gold capital, get this big profit, each has its own cause, don't envy people. ”
In the ninth year of Guangxu, he finally got his turn to be a good vacancy, but he was robbed by others, and he was assigned to Nancheng. Although he was indignant in his heart, he was helpless, so he sent a letter to his friend: "Nancheng is not a good land, my brother should be Xinchang in this turn, and he is really good, and then he is the king of Hunan and the master is ghostly, trying to get it, and then Nancheng." Youyun: "It is a southern city, and it is not a good shortage, and the waterway is extremely tortuous, you can't go, you can't go immediately." ”
In the middle of winter, Zhao Zhiqian and his family went to Nancheng. Finally, a year later, due to excessive hard work and aggravation of old diseases, he died in Nancheng. At this point, we seem to see a Zhao Bei'an who is angry and sad and sighs.
