Enjoy the orchids of the Qinling Mountains and visit the strange gorge of China. On April 17, Shangnan County held the opening ceremony of the 2024 Qinling Golden Silk Gorge Orchid Festival at the Jinsixia Visitor Center.
This year's Orchid Festival is sponsored by the Shangluo Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the Shangnan County Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the People's Government of Shangnan County, and undertaken by the Shangnan County Culture and Tourism Bureau, the Shangnan County Forestry Bureau, and the Jinsixia Scenic Area Management Committee. With the theme of "Appreciating Qinling Orchids and Visiting China's Qixia", it has successively carried out a series of activities such as orchid tasting, the opening ceremony of the orchid festival, the fine orchid exhibition, the calligraphy and painting brush meeting, the orchid planting season, the orchid-themed youth research tour, and the "check-in to win gifts" Golden Silk Gorge fun tour, which is one of the series of activities of the 2024 Qinling Ecological and Cultural Tourism Festival. Lanyou, calligraphy and painting artists from inside and outside the province gathered in Jinsi Gorge to go to the "gentleman's appointment" between the wonders of the canyon and the Qinling Huilan.
At the opening ceremony, the president of the Shaanxi Provincial Animal and Plant Protection Association introduced the Qinling Orchid Resources, and the Orchid Branch of the Shaanxi Provincial Animal and Plant Protection Association awarded Shangnan County the plaque of "Qinling Hui Orchid Township";
In recent years, Shangnan County has focused on the goal of building a "famous tourist city", continuously improved the two core scenic spots of the 5A-level tourist attraction Jinsi Grand Canyon and the 4A-level scenic spot Yangchengyi, and gradually developed the Qinling North Tea Culture Tourism Scenic Spot, Lotus Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area and other characteristic scenic spots, and strived to create a two-day high-quality tour route of "one gorge, one lake, one peak and one road", and a series of "IP" festival activities such as the Tea Festival, the Bauhinia Festival, the Orchid Festival, and the Red Leaf Festival were held one after another, and the business card of "panoramic Shangnan and all-for-one tourism" became louder. Shangnan County is the main suitable area for dozens of Qinling orchid varieties such as Huilan, Chunlan, Dendrobium orchid, and single-leaved orchid, Shangnan Huilan is famous all over the country, and the Jinsixia Scenic Area is known as "Qinling First Orchid Valley" and "Qinling Huilan Protection Base", and Shangnan won the title of "Qinling Huilan Township". Shangnan County has held the Qinling Jinsixia Orchid Festival for 14 consecutive years, promoting orchid culture, popularizing orchid knowledge, protecting orchid resources, developing orchid industry, and realizing the perfect combination of canyon wonders and orchid culture.
It is understood that Shangnan County will take the Qinling Jinsixia Orchid Festival as an opportunity to inherit the orchid culture, prosper the orchid industry, and jointly promote the "Qinling Hui Orchid" to be famous throughout the country and fragrant in the world. We will continue to expand the brand effect of "Qinling Hui Orchid Township", focus on the industrialization and brand development of orchids, make excellent orchid quality and strong orchid brand, continuously enhance the popularity and influence of Shangnan Hui Orchid, and promote the formation of "small orchids" into a "big industry", and become a "rich flower" and "happy flower" to promote farmers' income increase and economic development at the county level. Adhere to the development of "orchid tourism integration", conscientiously organize and carry out four-season theme marketing and promotion activities such as the Tea Festival, Orchid Festival, and Red Leaf Festival, enrich and expand the all-season characteristic tourism product routes, build high-quality orchid-themed homestays, and promote the formation of a health and wellness experience of looking at the starry sky, listening to the language of flowers, watching the sea of clouds, and smelling the fragrance of orchids, highlighting the Shangnan characteristics of "22°C Shangluo, China's health and wellness capital". Guided by the creation of the Jinsixia National Tourism Resort, we will continue to improve the quality and service functions of A-level tourist attractions such as Jinsixia and Yangchengyi, accelerate the creation of Qinling North Tea Culture 4A Tourist Attraction and Qinling Tea Township 3A Tourist Attraction, promote the integrated development of agriculture, culture and tourism, focus on creating a provincial-level demonstration area for the integrated development of culture and tourism industry, and strive to write a new chapter in the high-quality development and modernization of Shangnan.
