From April 13th to 14th, the 18th Information Optoelectronics Development Strategy Seminar was held in Nankai University. Zhu Ninghua, born in Anlong County, Guizhou Province in December 1959, is a microwave photonician, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and president of the Xiong'an Innovation Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Zhu Ninghua graduated from Chengdu Institute of Telecommunications Engineering in 1982, and then worked in Changsha 770 Factory, Minister of Electronics Industry; in 1983, he was admitted to Chengdu Institute of Telecommunications Engineering as a graduate student, and obtained a master's degree and a doctorate degree in engineering; after graduating from the doctorate in 1990, he entered Sun Yat-sen University to engage in postdoctoral research; in 1992, he stayed in Sun Yat-sen University after leaving the postdoctoral station, and successively served as an associate professor. Professor was a researcher at the City University of Hong Kong from 1994 to 1995, a visiting scientist at Siemens AG in Munich from 1996 to 1998, a researcher at the Institute of Semiconductors of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1998 and a recipient of the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars in the same year, a deputy director of the Institute of Semiconductors of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2012, the head of the preparatory group of the Xiong'an Innovation Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2019, and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2021.

Zhu Ninghua is mainly engaged in the research of microwave photonic devices and technologies.
