Phnom Penh police surrounded the house, and 3 Chinese men who kidnapped their compatriots and extorted $60,000 were arrested!

At around 5 p.m. on April 30, the Phnom Penh City Police and the Po Sen Zhi District Police arrested three Chinese on suspicion of kidnapping one compatriot and extorting more than $60,000.

Police said one of the three Chinese arrested was the mastermind behind the scenes.

At around 2 p.m. that day, the group of Chinese kidnapped a Chinese man in front of a KTV in Longbian District. Subsequently, the victim was driven and hidden in a rental house in Zongzhou 2 Sub-district of Bodhisattva Sen Chey District and extorted more than $60,000.

Because the license plate number of the vehicle was exposed, the police quickly found the owner of the car that rented the car to the group of Chinese, and found their hiding place through GPS signals. The police then surrounded the rental house and arrested three Chinese suspects, including one mastermind, but nine suspects are still at large.
