Since Hong Kong emerged as Asia's financial and trade hub, it has produced an impressive number of contemporary buildings, ranging from the work of Hong Kong's emerging local architects to global star architects. Every skyscraper represents the success of a family, and the older generation of Hong Kongers can talk about the rise and inheritance of a family from a building everywhere in front of them.
Empire Group's commercial project "S22", located at 22 Heung Yip Road, Wong Chuk Hang, South Hong Kong Island, stands tall among the bustling buildings with a unique shape, like a proud mountain, bearing witness to the Group's family's ambition to inherit the Hong Kong spirit of three generations.
Wong Chuk Hang is located in the southern district of Hong Kong Island, which is the source of the world-famous "made in Hong Kong" in the past, and the factory buildings all over tell the glory of the past.
Formerly the Aberdeen Depot of Renfu, a well-known Mercedes-Benz car dealer, Empire Group chose to transform a traditional factory space into a modern commercial project that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing and named "S22".
The logo of "S22" is supported and shined in three fonts, symbolizing the family heritage and carrying forward the Group's success, as well as the rich potential of Hong Kong Island Southern District to become a dazzling district in Hong Kong, and S22 will be in line with the development of Southern District Planning Era and provide a fashionable and superior business environment.

Seeing the Future from Nature
Architectural design
S22 is a 28-storey building with a total gross floor area of 163,500 square feet, a floor height of approximately 4.55 metres and a flat floor area of approximately 7,600 square feet.
Inspired by Hong Kong's indigenous natural environment, the façade design is inspired by renowned architecture firm P&T Architects, with a modern architectural aesthetic and a strong vertical feature from the ground to the top to enhance its verticality.

Ground floor car park
THE INTERIOR DESIGN WAS DESIGNED BY THE TEAM OF THE FAMOUS STYLUS STUDIO (SS DESIGN STUDIO) IN HONG KONG. With a love and unique vision for Hong Kong, the design team incorporated the family heritage and vision of the Hong Kong developer into a commercial project that explores a great future with historical resonance.
SS Design has decorated the first floor with a sparkling atmosphere. The metal presentation of the hexagonal stone posture and the effect of lighting create a mysterious and dazzling time tunnel effect at the entrance of the dark-toned garage, which has been called "the most futuristic car park in Hong Kong" by the media.
Landscape inspiration combined with metallic light and shadow refraction brings a sense of ancient futurism. The future connects the past, and technology begins with nature. Colour and light form an organic whole, like a marching polyphony, playing a piece of music that inherits the spirit of Hong Kong.
The eye-catching top decoration is inspired by the world-class hexagonal stone landscape unique to Sai Kung East Country Park in Hong Kong, and perfectly matches the "S22" logo, with the hexagonal shape of the hive representing the perfect creation of nature.
Contemporary architecture in Hong Kong is constantly looking for different forms from the old order, and space is only a result. For SS Design Office, it is more like a kind of fate to be able to express the glitz and glitz of the world with the inspiration of nature.

Therefore, SS Design hopes that the quiet and open lobby space will allow people to quickly switch from the hot and crowded mood of waiting for the morning commute to a state of focus, clarity and efficiency. The ceiling of the lobby is made of corrugated aluminum panels, which are reflected by the highly reflective marble floor, creating a watery artistic conception.
A brass staircase winds down the atrium waterfall, like a dragon descending to the first floor, and the deep entrance invites people in, giving the space a futuristic feel.
From the mottled photos of the old cargo terminal in the southern part of Hong Kong Island at sunset, we see the future scene of orderly upward development.
SS Design uses aged brass and etched metal materials, and the vertical lines are interpreted by different material textures to interpret different industrial styles, whether delicate or rough, and the visual layers are particularly rich.
Design is the process of touching perception, and architecture is the medium of touching experience. In the internal public space of "S22", we can feel the sense of belonging brought by the space, and the power of contemplation brought by the stable color and aura. The brass and gray metal materials create a low-key and luxurious mood, which is the most suitable for expressing wealth and success.
The elevator hall is completely symmetrical, with flexible use of wood veneer, metal materials, and corrugated mirror reflections to create a zen-like wabi-sabi atmosphere. The elevator is a multi-level in-vehicle that leads to innovation, a transitional domain between the workspace and the exchange of ideas.
The lift hall and garage lobby have been hailed by the media as the most futuristic design in Hong Kong.
SS Design Studio uses the design concept of "subtraction", removing redundant decoration and soft decoration, and restoring the space to pure form and function. In the choice of materials, the design team emphasized the natural texture and luster, using delicate textured stone and metal, which will show subtle and warm color changes under the reflection of the light, reflecting the depth and depth of the light. Their natural textures and textures make each moment unique and complement the overall aesthetic of the architectural space.
The design of each floor of the bathroom draws on the depth and restraint of the earth's colours, the stabilizing force of nature, and creates a warm and comfortable environment through the clever use of light and materials. The metal tiles and stained veneer walls on the walls not only reflect the spaciousness of the space, but also reflect the clarity and tenacity of business people. The light lighting design at the top is like the first rays of sunlight in the morning, soft and bright, giving people a warm embrace.

Hanging Gardens
The sky garden of "S22" is designed to combine the concepts of humanization and sustainable environmental protection, and has become a spiritual home and natural habitat for employees. In this green space, SS Design has created a place that not only soothes the soul, but also unites the team with delicate humanistic care and deep understanding of the environment.
During the efficient and tight working hours, people can enjoy a moment of freshness in the sea breeze from here. The user-friendly design concept is used throughout, from the comfortable lounge seats to the wheelchair-friendly access, each of which shows thoughtful consideration for different needs. The meandering paths in the park, with intimate corners and open areas, cater to individual contemplation and provide a free space for team activities.
Environmental protection is another major theme of the design, and every material and facility used reflects a commitment to sustainability. The vegetation in the garden has been carefully selected to contribute to the city's ecosystem, while reducing maintenance costs and water consumption. With a rainwater recycling system and solar panels, the Sky Garden becomes an exemplary green space, demonstrating the possibilities of environmental protection and aesthetics.
S22's sky garden is more than just a place to rest, it is a reimagining of the modern office, a model of human care and environmental commitment, and a manifestation of employees' physical and mental health and corporate social responsibility.
