Nurturing bilingual talents in Chinese and Portuguese

Promote two-way cultural exchanges

The Macao SAR Government has adopted various policies and measures to enhance the pool of bilingual talents in China and Portuguese-speaking countries, including promoting Portuguese language education at the non-tertiary level, supporting the programme for further studies in Portuguese, and encouraging Macao students and students from the Mainland and Portuguese-speaking countries studying in Macao to actively participate in activities and volunteer work under the framework of Forum Macao, so as to enhance the bilingualism of young people in both Chinese and Portuguese-speaking countries through practice, and to deepen their understanding of the unique advantages and role of the Platform.

The government of the Macao Special Administrative Region has been committed to deepening Macau's role as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries. Train bilingual staff in Chinese and Portuguese and promote cultural exchange

The construction of a base for the training of bilingual staff in Chinese and Portuguese is one of the priorities in the construction of the Sino-Lusophone platform. The Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region implements different policies and measures to improve the pool of bilingual staff in Chinese and Portuguese, including promoting Portuguese education in non-tertiary education, supporting study plans in Portugal, as well as encouraging local students, students from Mainland China and Portuguese-speaking Countries studying in Macao, to proactively participate in activities and volunteer work within the framework of the Forum between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. Whenever possible, it is important to improve one's proficiency in Chinese and Portuguese through practice, and to deepen one's understanding of Macao's unique advantages as a Sino-Lusophone platform as well as the role it plays.
