The Insta360 8K panoramic action camera X4 was officially released
Yingshi officially released the 8K panoramic action camera X4, the action camera supports 8K ultra-high resolution, can be AI framing one-click automatic film, priced at 3499 yuan.
The following is the parameter information of this action camera:
- It can shoot 8K 30 frames + 5.7K 60 frames ultra-high-definition panoramic video and 72 million pixel photos
- Sensor size: 1/2 inch
- Invisible selfie stick, one person can take a selfie, and you can easily shoot a third-person perspective
- The new FOV option "Natural Wide Angle" has been added to reduce the distortion of the edges of the shooting frame and improve the image quality

BMD Teaser Breakthrough 17K Large Format Movie Camera
In addition to the Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K and Blackmagic PYXIS 6K cameras we mentioned in our previous newsletter, Blackmagic Design is also showcasing the Ursa Cine 17K, a higher resolution camera with a large format image sensor, at NAB 2024.
The 17K Ursa will use a 50.8 x 23.3mm sensor, which is a wider sensor than the Ursa Cine 12K's sensor (35.6 x 23.3mm), with a significant increase in surface area, from 829.5mm² to 1183.6mm², which is nearly 30%. BMD executives also explained that the large 17K sensor was designed in-house and promised 16 levels of dynamic range.

Modified Fujifilm GFX 100 II cinema camera
Camera rental company Old Fast Glass has custom-built a Fujifilm GFX100 II cinema camera, which is currently only for rent, but is likely to be sold individually in the future. Old Fast Glass is a Los Angeles-based company that specializes in renting vintage cinema lenses for modern cameras while also owning a large collection of modern lenses.

Nikon releases new firmware for Coolpix P950 and Coolpix P1000 cameras

Sony introduces the compact wide-angle FE 16-25mm F2.8 G zoom lens
Sony has officially launched the FE 16-25mm F2.8 G (SEL1625G) zoom lens, a large-aperture wide-angle zoom lens compatible with Sony's Alpha E-mount camera. The lens delivers sharp images from 16mm to 25mm while maintaining the maximum aperture of F2.8 throughout the zoom range. The FE 16-25mm F2.8 G is the smallest and lightest constant F2.8 zoom lens produced by Sony to date, which will be pre-sold on April 17, 2024, and officially launched on May 10, 2024, with an overseas retail price of about US$1,199.99 (equivalent to about RMB 8,687 excluding tax).

Canon releases firmware updates for 5 telephoto RF lenses
Canon has released firmware updates for five RF mount telephoto lenses, namely RF100-300mm F2.8 L IS USM Firmware Version 1.0.6, RF400mm F2.8 L IS USM Firmware Version 1.0.6, RF600mm F4 L IS USM Firmware Version 1.0.6, RF800mm F5.6 L IS USM Firmware Version 1.0.4, and RF1200mm F8 L IS USM Firmware Version 1.0.4.
The RF100-300mm F2.8 L IS USM lens now has easier focusing with fast zoom operations with this firmware update, and the control of pan assist after shooting a second shot in a row in the electronic shutter system has been improved. The Ranger S35 Compact Cinema Zoom Series is released
At NAB 2024, Laowa showcased a new series of compact Super35mm cinema zoom lenses, including 11-18mm, 17-50mm, and 50-130mm, all three lenses use the same T2.9 wide aperture, providing a total optical zoom range of more than 11x. These lenses have uniform focus, aperture, and zoom device positions, and are designed to be lightweight and compact.
The three Ranger S35 zoom versions will be officially launched in early May, with a retail price of $1,999 (about 14,472 yuan excluding tax) for each lens and $5,700 (about 41,266 yuan excluding tax) for the triple lens group.
