Hello everyone, I am a big tree under the clouds, a photography veteran who likes to toss equipment, please follow me and enjoy the fun of tossing with me
It's a tough question
Sony, as the industry's strongest video shooting manufacturer, has almost unified the video industry in the rapid development in recent years, and it has many advantages, such as recognition and tracking capabilities, and a focusing system that goes against the sky, such as powerful and diverse video specifications, such as excellent high-sensitivity capabilities (A7S3, the 12 million pixel bottom machine is a low-light artifact). However, Sony's machines have always had a short board that has been bothering Sojia users, and that is color
Sony A6700
Take the A6700 I am currently using as an example, as Sony's latest half-frame "flagship" machine, it is the first choice for many cost-effective double repair users. In terms of shooting pictures, Sony provides a creative appearance, with good color filters such as FL, VV, iN, etc., but if you shoot a video, you can't record the material in the form of slog if you apply a filter with a creative appearance, which is like a tight spell for the post-adjustment space...... If you're not shooting with the exposure settings accurate, you'll have to grit your teeth when you look at the computer screen in post

So for users who shoot videos, turning on S-log is a must, but as we all know, after turning on log, it is equivalent to shooting videos in RAW format, and the picture will become gray, without texture, and after superimposing Sony's body screen debuff, monitoring the screen during shooting is simply a terrifying torture, not to mention that the exposure control is not good, and it is even more torturous in the later stage for friends who have no color grading experience...... So is there a way to solve the problem of monitoring and color judgment on set? Not to mention, there really is
Here it is!
The solution is actually very simple, that is, to import a custom LUT,After setting it in the machine, you can monitor the color performance in real time after applying the LUT,This function is available in the recently released new machines,For example, a6700,ZVE1,a7c2, etc.,It seems that Sony students are still very self-aware
Copy the LUT
It's also very simple to implement this function,First find the sony folder of the memory card,Click to enter and there will be a pro folder to enter again,This time it's a folder named LUT,Just copy the LUT files we downloaded into this LUT folder! Some machines may only have a folder of sony by default,The next two folders are good for us to create by ourselves,The use is not affected。
Procedure for importing LUTs
After inserting the memory card into the machine, go to the Exposure/Color menu to find the "Color/Tint" separation, and select the Manage User LUTs to go to the Import LUT submenu.
Manage imported LUT files
In the submenu of "Import/Edit", you can set the LUT files we just saved to the settings file of the User number one by one, and you can choose the LUT settings according to your preferences.
Set up the in-camera LUT file
After setting up, we go to the video menu, select the submenu of image quality/recording, there is a log shooting setting option, we can open the log shooting after we can use the built-in LUT file option below to select the LUT file to apply, not only can you monitor the shooting situation in real time, but also use the color mode of this set of LUTs to directly record the material, saving the process of restoring the LUT in the later stage.
Schematic illustration of the LUT reduction effect
I chose a few LUTs that I use more commonly to show you the effect, and the material that comes out of the LUT is such a color expression! He really, I cried to death! This is simply the same effect as Fujifilm's film simulation filter! Mom no longer has to worry about the color of my video material is not good-looking, and the fatal problem that has plagued Sony users for many years has been solved
LUT classification display
Then in the end, there is the question of where to find the LUT that everyone is most concerned about!Including the official slog2 and slog3 restore LUT files, I have about 200 kinds of LUT files here, if you have a need......
Let's talk about it here today! If you think what I said is not bad, please like and pay attention to the comments~ Your support is the driving force for me to continue to update~ If you want a LUT file, remember to read my personal profile, ha~ Bixin
