Poplars and willows belong to dioecious, every spring in the warm flowering season, after the female plants bloom and pollinate and mature, the sesame-sized seeds are wrapped by the white flocculent fluff on the outside, and spread by the wind, which forms the willow flying. Zhang Bo, deputy director of the Science and Technology Department of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Gardens and Gardens, said that after years of observation, it has been found that the time of female poplar plants in Beijing generally starts around April 10 every year, and the overall time of poplar flocculation lasts until about late April. This is followed by the flocculation time of the willow females, which generally lasts from late April to around May 15 every year. During this period, in the sunny and high temperature weather, poplar and willow female plants fly more, and the time period of concentrated flying every day is: 10 o'clock - 16 o'clock. To this end, the garden department and the water affairs department and other departments use water wheels at night to increase the intensity of spraying.

To this end, the first ecological company acted quickly, took multiple measures at the same time, and adopted measures such as "replacement, repair, and spraying" to reduce the occurrence of flying flotsam. According to the head of the Urban Sub-center Project Department of the Maintenance Division of the Capital Group Ecological Company, "change" refers to the gradual replacement of female willow trees with trees such as ash, acacia and luan.
"Repair" refers to strengthening plastic pruning and reducing willow flying, "the willow catkins flying in the air will not only bring irritation to people with allergies, but also bring safety hazards to highway travel." The first ecological company adopts methods such as plastic pruning and pruning female branches to reduce the harm of willow flying. In order to reduce the harm of willow flying, from last winter, the female plant of willow began to be shaped and pruned, while cutting off dead branches and diseased branches, scientific shaping, removing the over-dense branches, cross branches, overlapping branches that affect the landscape to reduce the amount of fly flocculation per female plant.
"Spraying" refers to the use of high-pressure water trucks to flush the canopy of the tree to prevent the flying floc from flying. In open areas such as highway green belts, the first ecological company adopts the method of high-pressure water gun spraying on female plants before the production of willow fly floc, so as to promote the seeds to fall before the formation of fly floc, and clean them up to reduce the amount of fly floc. At the same time, in the high incidence period of flying flotsam, the company's 26 water trucks with spraying functions are ready to go, rush to the front line of anti-flocculent, start the "encirclement campaign", use high-pressure water trucks, spray trucks and other professional vehicles to spray water on the canopy of willow trees, spray the fly floc wet to the ground, so that it can not spread in the air, to achieve the purpose of controlling the fly flotsam.
In addition to the expressway, Capital Ecology is also responsible for part of the vegetation management tasks of Greenheart Park. On the morning of April 17, a reporter from Beiqing Daily saw in Greenheart Park that the staff of the first ecological company were pruning the high branches of the willow tree. Wang Hu, the person in charge of the maintenance project of the urban sub-center of the first ecological company, introduced that the company checked and counted the female willow trees in advance, and divided them into 6 key areas, including the East District Post Station, P10 Parking Lot, Xiaohan Node, Millennium Huilin, Spring Equinox Node, and Qingming Node, according to factors such as distribution density and human flow, and established a key regional governance account. In the areas where willow trees are used as scenery embellishment areas such as millennium Huilin and vernal equinox nodes, the first ecological company adopts the method of injecting flower bud differentiation inhibitors into the trunk of female willow trees before the willow trees enter the flower bud differentiation period, so as to regulate the flower bud differentiation of female willow plants, so that the side buds cannot be differentiated into flower buds, so as to achieve the effect of not producing flying flocculents. In the P10 parking lot and other willow trees as the background forest area, the method of high-pressure water gun spraying was carried out on the female plants before the willow fly floc was generated, so as to promote the seeds to fall before the formation of fly floc, and clean them up to reduce the amount of fly floc.
