On April 13th and 14th, sponsored by Chengdu Normal University, the School of Teacher Education of Chengdu Normal University and the Sichuan Provincial Education Informatization Application and Development Research Center hosted the "Cross-project Future - Project-based Learning Chengdu Forum in the Digital Intelligence Era", and more than 400 experts, scholars, teachers, principals, and principals from all over the country gathered at Chengdu Normal University to discuss the development, reform and practice of project-based learning in the context of the digital intelligence era.

Project-based learning will transform the school curriculum
Sang Guoyuan, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Faculty of Education of Beijing Normal University, shared with the participants on the development of project-based learning methods, the development and change of new quality productivity and education reform, and the high-quality development of education and curriculum reform on "Structured, Comprehensive and Practical: Project-based Learning Leverages School Curriculum Reform".
"In the context of the era of digital intelligence, our educational philosophy should be constantly updated, and we should focus on cultivating students' innovative consciousness and critical thinking ability. While the educational content keeps pace with the times, it is necessary to incorporate new scientific and technological elements, as well as interdisciplinary knowledge. Professor Sang Guoyuan believes that it is necessary to pay attention to heuristic and interactive inquiry-based teaching, guide students to think actively, actively ask questions, and explore independently; we should pay attention to situational teaching, actively explore the integrated teaching of subject-based courses, and carry out research-based, project-based, and cooperative learning.
Professor Sang Guoyuan said that first, project-based learning encourages students to explore, cooperate and innovate, and helps the transformation of examination-oriented education to quality education. Second, project-based learning enables students to learn how to face, analyze and solve problems by participating in practical projects, which will help cultivate top-notch innovative talents. Third, project-based learning usually revolves around the topics that students are interested in, which can stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning, improve their willingness to learn actively, and enhance students' sense of learning. Fourth, project-based learning is in line with the trend of global education, which is conducive to the integration of China's education system with international education and cultivates talents with international vision and competitiveness.
Professor Sang Guoyuan said that as a constructive learning method, project-based learning will not only reconstruct the curriculum content, change the teaching mode, promote student-led learning, and advocate a diversified evaluation system, but also enhance the cooperation and communication between students and between teachers and students, improve the practicality and effectiveness of learning, and realize the application of learning. In addition, project-based learning will further integrate various educational resources to help schools adapt to future education trends and cultivate talents that are more in line with the needs of society.
Professor Sang Guoyuan said that a good project-based learning design not only needs to have six degrees of problem-driven, continuous inquiry, student participation, discipline integration, product orientation, and evaluation guidance, but also needs to have six implementation elements: focusing on curriculum standards, building culture, project management, building scaffolds, evaluating learning, and reviewing and reflecting, so as to achieve real deep learning, develop students' core literacy, and achieve the purpose of comprehensive education.

Keep an open mind and forward-looking vision, and embrace change positively
With the advent of the era of artificial intelligence, machines "learn to be adults" and "useless classes" are generated, how should we deal with them? Ke Qingchao, deputy dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Educational Information Technology of South China Normal University, said that there is no need to panic.
Professor Ke Qingchao believes that generative AI is to train large-scale datasets, learn the essential laws and probability distributions of data, and imitate human thinking processes to independently generate new content with a certain degree of logic and coherence. Although it has subverted the mode of knowledge content production, and even broken through the forbidden areas of human intelligence, consciousness, thinking and rationality that cannot be surpassed by traditional technology, it has detonated a new round of artificial intelligence revolution. However, as in the past, machinery is still an extension of human organs, and it has always been a certain way of self-realization of human collective wisdom and values, which cannot be separated from the influence of our entire human collective wisdom and values, and is a new perspective and tool for human beings to explore themselves and the external world.
For education, there are many implications. On the surface, it will have a certain impact on students' learning and teachers' teaching, such as students will face a new learning interactive environment, personalized learning upgrades, intelligent companion learning, etc., and teachers will face the impact of real-time education content generation, human-computer collaborative teaching design, and human-computer collaborative teaching implementation. "With the advent of the era of artificial intelligence, how can we improve the AI-related literacy and practical ability of teachers and students? How to explore the new ways and models of generative AI active application in basic education, how to empower teachers to prepare for teaching, and how to empower students' learning?"
