The engraver can change into everyone, get the fun of nature, open a new way without losing the carving method of the ancient monument, there has always been only Uncle Zhao (Zhao Zhiqian) alone. At the age of forty-five, Shang Shi "Two Kingdee Hall Seals". Zhao Zhi Zhu Wen is close to Juanxiu, and the seal of Bai Wen is different, so it becomes a little stronger, super vertical into the knife, do not cut or do, never imitate, evil finishing, and then look at the ancient famous inscription carving, all are the same. After 20 years of hard work, he thought he could engrave it. Brother Tie Heng was sent by Fengtian to hand engrave the second rubbing, asking for approval of its short length. How fierce is it? Its clumsy vigor is not only too much, but it can surpass the absence of boredom (Zhao Zhiqian). Those who are humble do not know the depths of their kung fu without complacency. Therefore, the number of words in the title is before Intuo, and it can also be used as a precedent. Wu Yinchun lived in Qihuang, Beijing, in February. Seal: And, Shiraishi Mountain Weng

Attached are several anecdotes of Zhou Tieheng and Qi Baishi (excerpt from "Mr. Zhou Tieheng's Seal Carving Art")

Zhou Tieheng, formerly known as Zhou Dexing, is a Tieweng, half-deaf, and a gardener. The name of the hall is semi-deaf building, Qingquan Hall, East Huzhai, Yexiang Pavilion, back residence, etc. A native of Ji County, Hebei Province. At the age of 20, he went to Beijing to worship Baishi as a teacher, mainly learning the seal carving art of the old man Baishi. He graduated from Manchuria Medical University in 1927 and studied in Japan. He loved the ancients all his life, and became close friends with Guo Moruo. In his early years, he was a professor at the Northeast Art School, a consultant of the Northeast Cultural Relics Management Office after the New China, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, the vice chairman of the Liaoning Artists Association, and the vice chairman of the Shenyang Federation of Literary and Art Circles. He has research achievements in archaeology, ancient Chinese ceramics, paintings, and ancient musical instruments. There are works such as "Chinese Guqin Hidden Interpretation", "East Kiln Examination", "Gynecology Fuwei", "Reading Painting in the Half-Deaf Building", "Printing Grass in the Half-Deaf Building" and other works.

View the seal of the white stone

(August 1919) in the old man Shiraishi lived in the Fayuan Temple for two days, the old man for the gold engraving, both sides are white text. The gentleman had the opportunity to watch the old man play the knife. (Note: Qi Baishi came to Beijing for the third time in early March this year, still living in Fayuan Temple, and rented a few rooms in Longquan Temple until September.) )

The old man first took out a copy of "Six Books" from the cabinet, then printed the manuscript of calligraphy and painting on the printing surface, made slight changes, and then played the knife. According to the different strokes, the size of the force is different, and the deficiencies are supplemented with the knife. Then, use the middle finger of your right hand to dip the ink in the inkstone, and then pat it on the printing surface. The engraved inscription is prominent, black and white. After careful examination, the unsatisfactory place is engraved to trim. Then wash the printing surface thoroughly, find the remaining rice paper of the waste painting and flatten it, a small piece of glass below, there are two layers of waste rice paper on the glass, the printing surface is lightly dipped in the printing mud, and then cover it evenly. At this point, the seal of one side is engraved. If you are not satisfied with the impression of the seal, you will have to do it many times.

After each engraving of one side of the seal, in addition to the test of the bowl, but also the left side of the seal engraved with the inscription. Then, in the middle of the size of the paper, plain white rice paper, the official stamp impression, the right side of the impression is written on the paragraph, and the left side of the impression is named, which is the manuscript. In this way, the person who took the seal could retrieve the seal and the manuscript together, but the old man's engraving was prepaid. The old man also has a stamp book, and the seal is stamped on the seal sheet as an accumulation.

The old man then found a thin piece of rice paper and ink on the edges. At this time, Mr. (i.e. Zhou Tieheng) said that I would try it, he first took water in his mouth, sprayed it on the dry and hard bag, and then rubbed it repeatedly with waste paper, until it was soft, and the bag could be used well. Dip your index finger in a little saliva and apply it to the top of the inscription, and gently apply a thin piece of rice paper. Put oiled paper on it, hammer it with a brown brush, and then lightly dip it in thick ink and gently rub it until it is clear. Gently remove the printing paper, brush the paper, and use scissors to repair the fit, and paste it under the red impression that has been made. The old man was very satisfied with the side of the gentleman's stamp. I also observed the process of painting by the old man Shiraishi. Although the apprenticeship process only lasted for a few days, it was very fruitful.

Dine with Qi Baishi

At the beginning of this year (referring to 1930), Mr. and his father returned to their hometown, and on the way back, the two visited the old man Baishi together.

Before leaving, Mrs. Zhou Tieheng (Xia Yubing) held shares in Fengtian "Jishun Silk House", "Neijinsheng" and other firms. Therefore, the old man takes two caps in the "Inner Jinsheng" and two sections of silk material in the "Jishun Silk Room", both of which can be cut into robes. Boys and girls are all needed, and then go to the straddle alley in Xicheng District.

The old man Baishi asked about Mr. Zhou Yuexi's Jiachen Enke, and Zhou Yuexi said:

I am so ashamed that I am far less talented, and I took the exam 278 places. Although it is also put on the same list, it is not allowed to enter the stream, although it is also called a jinshi, but only to Anton is a small lier. After taking office, because he did not understand the common practices of officialdom, he was angry with the boss and was not tolerated by the boss. Therefore, he returned to Fengtian to live in idleness and relieve the worries of the sick with traditional Chinese medicine. Fortunately, the daughter-in-law of Deyu has a solid family, and she has quite an industry in Fengtian, and her life is acceptable.

While the two old men were gossiping, the old man Baishi asked Mr. to go to the study, put down the poems, books, paintings, and printed manuscripts, and then made up for the unfinished ones painted and engraved by the old man.

In the afternoon, the old man Baishi stayed for dinner, and Mr. Zhou Yuexi still asked Mr. Zhou Yuexi to go to a nearby restaurant, called two tables of noodles, and sat in two rooms to eat together. During the banquet, the old man took out a small bottle of "酃渫" from the cabinet, and everyone symbolized a small cup. After eating, the cups and plates that have not been eaten are folded, and the restaurant staff will remove the table, and the food utensils are still packed in food boxes.

The next day, he went to Beijing to meet Master Ruiguang in Qianhai and Yanfa Temple. The gentleman accompanied the old man to write, draw or engrave. Take out the seal brought by Fengtian, and use the seal to make multiple prints according to the seal, so as to be sold or given away. Mr. Zhou Tieheng cleaned up the scattered people in the old man's prints. Bring your own seal to ask the old man to inscribe, and the old man has not yet sent away the seal to beat, and the print is gradually abundant.

On the third day, the old man drew four albums for Mr. "Gourd", "Chicken Chick", "Pod" and "Shrimp". Before leaving, he packed the two Zhu texts of "Uchiyama Sumida Town" and "Calligraphy and Painting Fetish" that the old man Shiraishi had carved for Tetsutaro Nishi, and brought them back to Mukden.

Ask Qi Baishi for help

In June 1936, he had commissioned others to bring "Half-Deaf Building Talking about Painting" to the mansion of the old man Baishi in Beijing, and the old man had already gone to Sichuan. (On the morning of March 27, 1936, Wang Zhangxu, the general of the Sichuan Army who was good at calligraphy and painting, appointed Wu Qiushi, a famous gold and stone artist in Sichuan, to arrive in Beiping by plane on behalf of the calligraphy and painting circles in central Sichuan, and invited Qi Baishi to visit Sichuan. On April 27, Qi Baishi and his entourage set off from Beiping and started the only trip to Sichuan and Shu in his life. On September 5 of the same year, he returned to Beijing. The old man left a message, and he returned in August or September. Knowing that the old man had returned, in early November, Mr. went back to his hometown in Hebei Province, Yulin Village, Ji County, Hebei Province to deal with the field property. This time, I first put the daily necessities such as the tin kettle, hand-cranked phonograph and woven socks made by the Japanese brought to the elderly at their home along the Xihe, and then went to Yulin Village.

When he went to his hometown, he handed over the dozens of acres of thin fields handed down by his ancestors to the clansmen, gave up his property rights, and went to the Yamen of Ji County to handle the draft deed and the tail deed, and gave up the right to the deed. Then I went to Fenggezhuang to visit my father-in-law and mother-in-law, and presented the items that Mrs. Xia Yubing brought to my family, and talked about my son-in-law's feelings. In fact, the Yue family has invested outside the north gate of Fengtian, so the manager often travels back and forth between Fengtian and Hebei. The Yue family knows very well about the situation of the "Yuji Clinic" in Fengtian. Yuezhang thought that Kangfu, so he didn't care. After a while, it is estimated that the old man has returned, said goodbye to his family, and entered Beijing by Zhili.

At this time, the old man had returned to Beiping from Sichuan. The old man talks about the pleasure of Sichuan, Shu, Moth, and Qingcheng. The unhappiness of Yu Zhiyuan is because of the sigh of being good at appreciating old paintings, and most of them respond to the white text of "Baishi See". Wang Zhangxu (then chairman of Sichuan Province and one of Qi Baishi's patrons) promised a gratuity, but he did not fulfill it, and his heart continued to be gloomy. (When Qi Baishi and Wang Zhangxu first met, the guests and hosts had a good impression of each other, and Wang gave Qi great assistance in all aspects such as finance, and Qi also thanked Wang for his courtesy.) Before 1940, Qi Baishi painted a number of fine works for Wang Zhangxu, and Wang's collection of paintings and calligraphy and important personal seals were all made by Qi hand. Qi Baishi's "Miscellaneous Notes on Shu Travel" has an article: "Xin Si (1941) on the tenth and eighth day of October in the winter of 1941 because he remembered that there was a guest in Chengdu, and he forgot his name for a long time. Later generations will know that Weng will have unhappy things, and his interest will not be so much. "Remember" □□□ (Wang Zhiyuan's three words are scribbled out in ink) thanked him for half a year with 400 yuan, and the 3,000 yuan he promised was not with him, which can be described as not a gentleman. The two had a bad relationship because the gratuity was not paid)

However, the old man was slightly relieved when he saw Mr. Zhou. The two months of homework from the old man invited the old man's poems, paintings, seal carvings, and calligraphy works to be sent to the old man Baishi. The old man thought that the speed of growth was unexpected, and he appreciated it very much.

Li Kuchan returned to the province from Hangzhou and came to the old man in Baishi, and the old man said: "This is what I told you, Zhou Tieheng outside the gate, you are all from Yuzhimen, and you should also go on a blind date." "After being recommended by Qi Ziru, the third son of the old man Baishi, he met Chen Banding. Because Mr. Chen is Mr. Ziru's teacher, Mr. Zhou also conducts the discipleship ceremony. Don't call Mr., but nickname Mr. Chen. In the past few days, Xu Yansun, Pan Jiezi and other people from the painting world have visited, and the old people have asked Mr. Zhou to meet him as a disciple.

The old man has written the inscription, title page, and preface for "Talking about Painting in the Half-Deaf Building". Preface: "The person at the head of the painting building is half deaf, and the oral talk is also hand-to-hand." Someone painted the poor samadhi, come to see the Zhou family in this volume. "Mr. Zhou's reading is like a treasure.

Treat Qi Baishi's illness

In April 1940, due to the death of Mrs. Chen, the wife of the old man Baishi, ("Qi Baishi Shuangpu": On the 14th day of the first month, his wife Chen Chunjun passed away at the age of 79. Physically and mentally injured, because of the cold that did not heal for a long time, he wrote to Mr. Zhou to bring some Western medicine to Beijing. Mr. Zhou packed his bags, brought medical equipment for consultation, and brought penicillin and an alcohol lamp heated saline nebulizer for medication. When I arrived at the old man's house, I first invited Mr. Zhou Dacheng to check it together, and the old man did not have a fever, but his liver was depressed and uncomfortable. Therefore, no anti-inflammatory drugs are used, only sprays are used for dry cough, some digestive pills are eaten, and treatment is carried out every day. During the day, he no longer paints, engraves, or gossips or reads and chats with the old man to relieve his boredom. When the old man was silent and resting, Mr. Zhou read the old man's paintings and prints, and then made a smash.

Qi Baishi is invited to participate in the charity sale

In April 1950, Mr. Zhou went to Beijing to bring his recent paintings and calligraphy, and asked the old man to comment on the prints. The seal score is the manuscript of the 100 parts of the imitation, and the old man thinks it is good. instructed Mr. Zhou: "You can ask the giant to ask for the title of the inscription, and I am not enough." Mr. Zhou said that he had asked the old man Luo Xuetang of Zhensong to sign the inscription, the title page of the seal book, and the cover note. The old man thought he could.

In February 1951, the Northeast Cultural Relics Administration Office scheduled to hold the "Charity Exhibition of Calligraphy and Painting Works to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea" and the "Charity Exhibition of Cultural Relics Donated by Cultural Circles" in the Shenyang Forbidden City in July. Mr. Zhou sent a letter to the old man Baishi, asking the old man to donate his works to participate in the event. In addition, in order to prepare for the "Cultural Relics Donation Charity Exhibition", cultural relics dealers were mobilized to donate cultural relics for charity sale.

In July, the old man Baishi sent more than 10 works to participate in the charity exhibition, and also invited Hu Peiheng and other well-known families to donate paintings to participate in the charity sale. The old man Shiraishi presented his masterpiece "Dove of Peace" with the inscription "May the world be like such a bird" to the Cultural Management Office. In this "Cultural Relics Donation Exhibition" activity, Mr. Zhou donated 20 pieces of calligraphy, painting and seal carving.

Wen Qi Baishi passed away

In 1957, before Mr. Shiraishi's birthday in May, Mr. Shiraishi was brought a painting of "Dove of Peace" by the Beijing Teachers Committee, with the inscription on the left: "Brother Tie Heng, words are inexhaustible." Ninety-four-year-old Shiraishi. "Shiraishi Old Man" and "Wooden Man". Mr. Zhou framed it as a mirror core and hung it between the walls, meeting each other day and night. In September, the old man Shiraishi passed away in Beijing. The gentleman was grieved when he heard the bad news and went to mourn. After returning, the old man displayed the portrait of the old man in front of the painting and set up an incense burner. Incense is poured every day, wine is placed on the fifteenth day of the new year, and vegetarian food is eaten every day, so it lasts for half a year.
