Not long ago, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen visited China, and in fact, Yellen's visit to China did have a lot of things that made people feel "inexplicable". For example, during her visit to China, Yellen pointed out that China's manufacturing overcapacity may lead to the impact of the global economy, and even affect the development of American companies, and Yellen specifically pointed out new energy vehicles and other fields.
This should actually be something that Raimondo should pay attention to, and it has little connection with Yellen, so this strange and "out of bounds" remark naturally caused many people to be dissatisfied. The most important thing is that after Yellen's visit to China, the United States imposed "sanctions" on six Chinese companies on the grounds of supporting Russia.
In the face of the U.S. move, we also began to carry out reciprocal countermeasures, announcing sanctions against two U.S. companies within 24 hours, freezing the assets of the two U.S. companies in Chinese mainland. The two U.S. companies, General Yard Aviation Systems and General Dynamics Land Systems, have taken reciprocal countermeasures in addition to asset freezes, which will be implemented from April 11, 2024.
During her visit to China, Yellen not only "pointed fingers" at China's manufacturing capacity, but also asked us not to help Russia, otherwise economic sanctions would be imposed on us. Later, the United States charged six companies, including Xi'an Like Innovation Information Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Anhuaixin Technology Co., Ltd., and Siteng Heli Tianjin Technology Co., Ltd., believing that they were suspected of violating relevant U.S. laws and regulations.
There is no doubt that our affairs have nothing to do with the United States, and it is not the turn of the United States to "point fingers" and teach us what we should do. At the same time, we have always adhered to the principle of independent foreign trade, without interference from third parties, and our commercial and trade cooperation with Russia is completely reasonable and ruled.
On the contrary, the United States has always questioned the development of our manufacturing industry chain, and on the other hand, it wants to restrict our close contacts with Russia, which is completely a double standard behavior.
In fact, although the United States has always talked about free trade and an open economy, it has actually been targeting Chinese companies for various spurious reasons, including the well-known Chinese companies such as Huawei and ZTE, which have been included in the "entity list" by the United States. On top of that, the U.S. Entity List is now growing in size, and there are already more than 1,200 Chinese entities in it.
In fact, the United States is essentially using a similar method to restrict the entry of Chinese companies into the American market, which is completely a way of trade protection, and not only that, but also to curb the development of Chinese companies and the expansion of their influence in the international market. In the face of this move by the United States, we have also launched countermeasures.
For example, two U.S. companies have violated our "red line" and are suspected of violating the "one-China principle", so they have not only frozen their assets located in China, but also restricted the entry of senior executives.
It is worth noting that some people in the industry believe that our countermeasures have shown resolute belief, which also means that this kind of normalized counterattack will likely become the main response mode in the future. Given the high dependence of U.S. companies on the Chinese market and China's supply chain, this is not good news for U.S. companies or even for the U.S. economy.
There is no doubt that from our restrictions on the export of drone technology, shield machine technology and rare earths, it can be seen that the United States does not seem to have any effect on this method, but has begun to have a counterproductive effect.
