Challenging Putin's bottom line? Within 24 hours, NATO has done two major things, and the risk of world war has surged

author:LO LOYAL TALK

First of all, according to a report by Euronews, more than 20 German Army soldiers arrived in Lithuania a few days ago, and the first permanent German Army base since World War II was established here.

It is known that the Germans divided the base into two locations, one on the outskirts of the Lithuanian capital and the other on the outskirts of Kaunas, Lithuania's second largest city. By the end of 2027, the Germans are expected to deploy around 5,000 troops at the two bases.

We all know that Germany, as a defeated country in World War II, is strictly constrained in its military development, let alone the establishment of military bases in other countries. Therefore, this incident means that Germany's military strategy has undergone a fundamental change, and the root cause of this change needs to be attributed to the special military operation launched by Russia.

Judging by the map, Lithuania is next to Belarus and Latvia, and if the war in Ukraine is unfavorable, then Lithuania will become a forward position against Russia. Against this background, the German army stationed in Lithuania clearly confronted Russia, and this approach is bound to further intensify the contradictions between Germany and Russia.

The second news is that the day after the German troops were stationed in Lithuania, the Norwegian Minister of Defense said that NATO planned to establish an army command in Finland. According to reports, the headquarters is planned to be built in a small Finnish town about 140 kilometers from the Finnish-Russian border.

Obviously, since the army headquarters is to be built, it will definitely have to be garrisoned on a large scale, and the distance of 140 kilometers is enough for NATO troops to "blitzkrieg" the Russian border and even break through the Russian defense line. This is an undoubted threat to Russia and has seriously jeopardized Russia's national defense and security, so it can be concluded that Russia cannot accept this matter and is bound to fight back.

Okay, now that I've said and said both things, let's talk about some personal opinions. Whether it is the imminent large-scale entry of the Russian army into Lithuania or the NATO Army building a command on the Finnish-Russian border, it can be seen that the NATO military bloc has reached a consensus, that is, to confront Russia head-on, rather than actively de-escalate the situation.

In my opinion, this is an exaggeration to force Russia to start a world war, because it will not solve the problem at all, but will only further exacerbate the already tense situation and allow the Russian-Ukrainian conflict to spill over into a European war between Russia and NATO.

Of course, from the perspective of NATO countries, it is understandable that they do not choose peace talks, because Russia's ambitions for expansion are too great, and no one knows whether Russia will launch a further war after defeating Ukraine.

Out of vigilance against Russia, they can only move closer to NATO and use NATO's military strength to counter Russia's military threat. However, from Russia's point of view, NATO continues to expand its sphere of influence and constantly oppress Russia's living space, and can only resist if it has no endurance, even if it is a world war.

Based on this, the issue between NATO and Russia is not a question of right or wrong, because there is no right or wrong in international politics, only the positions of both sides have their own positions and ideas, and such positions are incompatible. Therefore, once the mediation of the international community fails, it depends on whether the political elites on both sides have the wisdom to "step on the brakes" in time, otherwise they can only embark on the road of war.
