With regard to the Taiwan issue, with the rapid increase in the national strength, especially the rapid growth of the military strength, of the mainland of the motherland in recent years, many people believe that it is time for us to resolve the Taiwan issue in one fell swoop. If this continues to drag on, it is very likely that the United States and other external forces will continue to interfere and cause more accidents to occur on the Taiwan issue, and this is something we have to focus on.
In particular, the DPP authorities, that is, those diehards who seek independence, have relied on the "backing" of the United States to constantly commit erroneous acts, and the confidence of the DPP authorities comes from the United States. In order to continue to follow the road of seeking independence, the DPP authorities have continued to build public opinion on the island, and even more so, they want to carry out the so-called "de-Sinicization," which is obviously an attempt to instill the "independence ideology" in the people on the island.
Now, under the influence of the DPP authorities' erroneous public opinion for many years, it is very likely that some people on the island who do not know the truth have really had serious problems ideologically. One thing is more important, that is, what we hope most for on the mainland of the motherland so far is that the Taiwan issue can be resolved peacefully, so that the two sides of the strait can be peacefully reunified, and this is the direction that is most in line with the vital interests of the people on both sides of the strait. Of course, if we want peaceful reunification, then the first thing that we are most concerned about is probably the trend of public opinion.
In particular, what views do the people on the island have on cross-strait reunification? This is also a matter of greatest concern to us.
However, the DPP authorities released a poll with unexpected results. According to the results of a so-called public opinion poll released by Taiwan's "Mainland Affairs Council," about 89.6 percent of those who claim that they do not approve of "one country, two systems" now, and 88.8 percent hope to "maintain the status quo."
In other words, if according to the DPP authorities, then now nearly 90 percent of people reject reunification.
However, the authenticity of the so-called opinion poll data unilaterally by the DPP authorities may be very low. This is because we can often see that when some media interview the younger generation on the island, when asked what their views are on cross-strait reunification, a large number of them express their support, and this may have already expressed the most sincere aspirations of the people on the island, that is, they support cross-strait reunification and join hands on both sides of the strait to work together for the great rejuvenation of China.
In addition to young people, the older generation on the island has a firmer view of reunification; they believe from the bottom of their hearts that they are Chinese, and they will firmly oppose "Taiwan independence." They believe that only when the two sides of the strait achieve reunification can Taiwan have better development in the new era in the future, and this is the most beneficial to our entire China.
Not only ordinary people, but also the stubborn acts of some political parties on the island and the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in "seeking independence" are also in sharp contrast. Regardless of whether it is the Kuomintang or other parties, they all oppose the DPP's actions and believe that "Taiwan independence" is not desirable and there is no way out, and that only peace between the two sides of the strait is the best.
Therefore, if you consider it from this direction, then the so-called poll data of the DPP authorities may be mixed with a lot of water, and it will not be convincing at all. It is more likely that the DPP authorities have no factual basis at all, and are only deliberately using the media to hype up.
There is even a view that the release of such so-called poll data by the DPP authorities at this time is probably an attempt to demonstrate to the mainland, which also means that the DPP is likely to continue to be tough to the end.
Not only that, the United States also shouted to the mainland not long ago, which roughly means that Chinese mainland will not be allowed to unilaterally change the status quo in the Taiwan Strait, and it will also unswervingly support Taiwan Island.
At that time, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said that on the Taiwan Strait issue, the United States continues to adhere to the "one-China" policy, but opposes unilateral changes in the status quo in the Taiwan Strait by any relevant party. Sullivan also said that the United States will continue to provide the Taiwan military with means of "self-defense" in accordance with the agreements reached with the authorities on the island, and the United States is very clear and has not changed its position in this regard, and will take all measures to achieve this.
Obviously, the so-called "self-defense" means provided by the United States for the Taiwan military shows that the United States will continue to sell arms to Taiwan and sell more weapons and equipment to the Taiwan military. By doing so, to be honest, the United States will not only not "help" Taiwan Island, but will also greatly aggravate the tension in the Taiwan Strait and undermine peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
Originally, Ma Ying-jeou's visit to the mainland was intended by the mainland side in the hope of bringing cross-strait relations closer together and easing the situation in the Taiwan Strait, which has been tense recently. However, judging from the so-called polls expressed by the DPP authorities above and the US side's verbal support for Taiwan again, it is clear that the diehards on the island and the US side are still stubborn on the Taiwan Strait issue. Both public opinion and the United States' verbal support have become the DPP's strength to confront the mainland.
In addition, now that Lai Qingde's inauguration day on 20 May is not far away, the United States has voiced its support, and the Democratic Progressive Party has unilaterally claimed that the so-called people on the island "do not support reunification," and it is very likely that they also want to pave the way for Lai Qingde's inauguration in advance. Speaking of Lai Qingde, it didn't take long for this person to make it clear to the outside world that he would continue to follow the "Tsai Ing-wen line" after taking office, and more likely to take a more dangerous path than the Tsai Ing-wen administration.
In this regard, some righteous people on the island have also expressed deep worries, believing that once Lai Qingde takes office, they can no longer imagine which way cross-strait relations will go in the future.
Therefore, in the face of the rising of stubborn forces on the island and the fact that the United States is still unwilling to give up interfering in the Taiwan Strait issue, as far as the mainland of the motherland is concerned, we must also prepare for the worst in advance. Once the wind is not in the right direction, the mainland of the motherland must have adequate countermeasures and take action when it is time to strike, so that it can strike at and eliminate all diehard elements and forces on the island.
