Red Bucket Hides the Corpse...... Isn't this the plot of a TV series?
Recently, South Korean media reported on a murder case that occurred in Busan.
On April 9, 2019, the Eastern Branch of the Busan District Prosecutor's Office in South Korea detained and prosecuted 28-year-old A (female), B (male) and 26-year-old C (male) on suspicion of homicide and body hiding.
A and B used to be a husband and wife, and C was A's younger brother.
In January 2019, A and B divorced, and after the divorce, A had a new boyfriend. On March 7 of the same year, A drank with his new boyfriend and confessed the truth after drinking, telling the secret he had hidden for 4 years and 3 months.
A confides that he once had a female friend D who was like his own sister, but D and her husband looked at each other. I was very angry because of the derailment of the two, and I ran to D's house and beat D in a fit of anger, but I didn't expect D to die like this. A said that he was too scared at that time, so he hid D's body in a rubber bucket and transported it back to his and her ex-husband B's home.
The new boyfriend who heard A's secret was startled, and after a night of distress, he called the police the next day.
On March 8, the criminal police team of the Busan Southern Police Station came to the house of ex-husband B to conduct a search, and indeed found a large red rubber bucket with a height of 75 centimeters and a diameter of 80 centimeters on the balcony. When the lid of the rubber bucket was opened, there was the corpse of D, which had been reduced to white bones, and the corpse was still mixed with cement and dirt.
Immediately, the police arrested A and B, and in order to investigate the real cause of D's death, they handed over the bones to the National Institute of Scientific Investigation for autopsy.
During the police investigation, A confessed that he met D, who was two years younger, in May 2014 at a mobile phone manufacturing factory in Gumi, Gyeongbuk. D is a single-parent family, her father died early, and she bears the responsibility of earning money to support the family.
After meeting A, D regarded A as his sister, so when A said that he wanted to go back to his hometown of Busan and asked D if he wanted to be with him, D readily agreed.
After coming to Busan, D and A lived together for about 3 weeks, and then they said that it was "not very convenient" to move out by themselves.
A claimed that she witnessed D and her ex-husband B having an affair, the two rolled on the same bed, and she couldn't suppress her anger and ran to D's rented apartment to ask for an explanation, and in the process hit D with a frying pan, after which D died.
However, the police did not believe A's statement, because the police had confirmed the fact that A and her ex-husband B had forced D into prostitution and extorted money from him. The police suspected that D was disgusted by the repeated forced sex trafficking, and was killed by A in the process of resisting, but because D had been dead for too long, no evidence could be found.
After D's death, A called his younger brother C, and the two put D's body in a suitcase, mixed cement and sand and poured it in. Because he was abused by A and B before his death, D was very thin and weak, and his bones were as small as a child's, and he could easily be stuffed into a suitcase.
When the cement solidified to a certain extent, Mr. and Mrs. A and Mr. C moved their suitcases back to their home, took out the bodies and put them in red rubber buckets. In order to hide the smell of corpses from the decomposing corpses, they also mixed detergent and mud and poured them into buckets.
In June 2015, Mr. and Mrs. A moved together with a red rubber bucket and placed it on the balcony on the second floor where they lived, so that they could often see it.
D's family reported missing in December 2015 after losing contact with D, but it was not until more than three years later that they received news that D had become a white bone.
Although the prosecution indicted Mr. and Mrs. A for homicide, the Criminal Department of the Eastern Branch of the Busan District Court of the first instance stated that there was no evidence to prove that Mr. and Mrs. A directly killed Mr. D, so they only applied the crime of injury causing death to Mr. and Mrs. A, and sentenced Mr. A to 15 years in prison, B to 7 years in prison, and D to 2 years in prison with a 3-year suspension.
In fact, this sentence was higher than the upper limit of the sentence for the crime of assault causing death at that time (7 years in prison), which can be regarded as a consolation to the victim's bereaved family......
