In terms of the spatial layout of the sponge city, the overall ecological space of "five sources and multiple corridors" should be constructed, including five important ecological sources such as Chongming Dongtan, Xisha, Beihu, Dongping National Forest Park and Changxing Qingcaosha Wetland, and "multiple corridors" including 11 city-level ecological corridors and 22 blue-green ecological networks. In terms of water environment, we will strengthen prevention and control in the whole process, comprehensively improve the level of flood prevention safety in terms of water security, form a sponge ecological pattern in which water and green are blended, and promote the construction of a water-saving society in terms of water resources.
Recently, the General Office of the Shanghai Municipal Government issued the "Implementation Opinions on Promoting the Construction of Sponge Cities in a Systematic and Global Manner", proposing that by the end of 2025, more than 40% of the city's built-up area will reach the sponge city construction target, and by the end of 2030, more than 80% of the city's built-up area will meet the requirements of the sponge city construction target, and Chongming will also achieve this goal.
