At the beginning of this year, "training 80,000 certified emergency ambulances" was included in the 2024 Shanghai Municipal Practical Project for the People. After receiving training, the homestay housekeepers can "take up their posts" when tourists are in sudden danger, and take emergency measures in time for rapid rescue.
In addition, as one of the first batch of demonstration sites of the Red Cross Society of China's urban community fraternity home, Jianshe Town is committed to building a "fraternity town" with red recognition across the country. The Red Cross Society of Chongming District and the Red Cross Society of Jianshe Town made full use of local advantages to encourage homestay workers to sign up for Red Cross ambulance training, and 60 homestay housekeepers from rural areas, including Zhang Songlei, learned the basic knowledge of trauma care, as well as skills such as preliminary diagnosis and emergency treatment of injuries, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and AED use. Under the guidance of the teachers, the trainees practiced in groups and finally passed the assessment and obtained the Red Cross Ambulance (Elementary) certificate.
This ambulance training in Jianshe Town is a microcosm of the continuous promotion of practical projects by the Shanghai Red Cross system. Since the launch of the practical project, the Shanghai Red Cross Society has continuously strengthened the top-level design, strengthened the planning and deployment, comprehensively improved the coverage of ambulance training in all districts, towns and villages, and made every effort to promote the implementation of the practical project. In addition to the construction of "fraternity homes", ambulance training is gradually becoming another starting point for the Red Cross to help rural revitalization.
