How difficult was it for ordinary people to escape from the Japanese army? More than 80 years ago, an elementary school teacher was captured by the Japanese army and relied on a stunt to escape from death. Here's how it happened:
In 1942, Zhang Qiying worked as a primary school teacher in Weide Mountain District, Weihai City, Shandong Province.
At 9 o'clock in the morning of December 4, a large number of ordinary people suddenly ran from the northwest direction, and then gunshots rang out in the neighboring village. Seeing that the situation was not right, Zhang Qiying hurriedly left the school with his colleagues Yu Zhiping, Liu Rende, and Ding Linzi and hid in a small cave.
At noon, seven or eight puppet soldiers came to the entrance of the cave to spy and found Zhang Qiying and others hiding in the cave. The puppet army fired a shot above the entrance of the cave, and Zhang Qiying and others had to come out as prisoners. They were taken to a primary school, where more than 300 civilians were already being held.
After dark, the four puppet soldiers escorted Zhang Qiying and the other four teachers to another room, and a Japanese officer sat on the kang, who pulled out his command knife and shouted loudly: "Do you have any eight-way people?" Before the words fell, he stabbed Zhang Qiying with a knife.
Zhang Qiying hurriedly retreated, his right arm was pierced by a knife, and blood flowed down his arm. After smirking for a while, the Japanese officer took out a few photos from his purse and tilted his head to look at them while looking at them.
Suddenly, the Japanese officer pointed at Yu Zhiping and said that he was the chief of staff of the Eighth Route Army, pointed at Zhang Qiying, said that he was the commander of the Eighth Route Army, and said that Liu Rende was the captain of the earth spear team (only Ding Linzi was not considered to be the Eighth Route Army).
Zhang Qiying and others hurriedly said that they were ordinary people, and the Japanese officers were willing to listen, and immediately ordered the Japanese soldiers to torture the three of them.
The Japanese soldiers put down Zhang Qiying and dragged them to a ladder, tied a rope to their legs, tied a rope to their chests, and placed a pole on their lower stomachs, with a Japanese soldier stepping on each end of the pole, another Japanese soldier stepping on their heads, and two Japanese soldiers pouring water into their mouths.
After a while, Zhang Qiying's stomachs bulged. The Japanese soldiers threw them to the ground again, and stomped on their backs with their feet, squeezing out the water in their stomachs again. After repeated torture three or four times, Zhang Qiying and two colleagues were tortured to death.
After Zhang Qiying and the others woke up, eight Japanese soldiers tied them up strongly, connected the three of them together with a thick rope, and pulled them to a hut and hung them. There were eight Japanese soldiers standing guard in the courtyard, burning a large fire, as if facing a great enemy.
Early the next morning, the Japanese army escorted Zhang Qiying and others to Jiangjia Village in Daonan, where the Japanese army gathered people from all over the world. Zhang Qiying and others were imprisoned in the east wing of the Jiang family ancestral hall. About ten minutes later, the Japanese officer walked into the wing room and stared at them with two bull's eyes.
As soon as this fierce and cunning guy beckoned, more than a dozen Japanese soldiers walked in, set up Zhang Qiying and ran out. Zhang Qiying thought that the Japanese army was going to shoot them, and his mood immediately became nervous.
But after thinking about it, it was inevitable that sooner or later he would die if he fell into the hands of the Japanese army. It's good to die here, and the family can rush to collect the corpse, so that the corpse will not be exposed in the wilderness.
Unexpectedly, the Japanese army put them into a room, and there were five Japanese soldiers drinking in the room, and they stared intently at Zhang Qiying and the others, and suddenly rushed up and beat them severely. Zhang Qiying and others were beaten to the point that their heads were bleeding, and then they were dragged to the square.
The square was full of captured people, and a few plainclothes and "Second Imperial Army" beat people indiscriminately with sticks. A group of Japanese soldiers knocked down a young man in front of the fire, poured water on his head, and buckled a bucket full of water to the young man's head.
A Japanese soldier pulled out a wooden stick more than four feet long and set fire at the end of the fire, stabbed the young man in the face, and said in blunt Chinese: "Warm and warm," while the rest of the Japanese soldiers laughed and kept killing the young man.
In the end, several Japanese soldiers dragged the young man by the legs and threw him far away. This group of robbers who kill for fun is really a bunch of beasts in human skin.
In the early morning of December 6, the Japanese army escorted Zhang Qiying and others to set off. When he walked to a small mountain beam seven or eight miles from the cliff head, there was a "Second Imperial Army" shouting at the top of his voice: "Come to the house, the devil has already left!"
At this time, an old lady came out to watch in the ditch in Luxi, and a Japanese soldier saw the old lady, took up his bayonet and rushed towards the old lady, stabbed the old lady down with one knife, and stabbed her several times. When the rest of the Japanese soldiers saw this scene, they all applauded.
In the evening, the Japanese escorted them to Tuchengzi Village, where they drove them into the donkey pen like cattle and horses, and beat them with rifle butts and wooden sticks to break people's heads and bleed. Thirty-six people were crammed into a donkey pen, and people had to stand in a crowd all night.
On December 7, Zhang Qiying and others were escorted by the Japanese army, passed through Nantai, Qiaotou, Mengjiazhuang, Hot Spring Tang and other Japanese strongholds, and stayed in Luanjiadian in the evening. To the south of the village is a small hill with a small slope, and the hill is overgrown with pine and oak trees. At the foot of the mountain there is a large ravine overgrown with black locusts.
Zhang Qiying found that the terrain was very good, and it would be a good choice if he could escape from here. If you don't want to escape from here today, you will have to wait for death when you arrive in Weihai tomorrow. Zhang Qiying secretly made up his mind that he had to try to escape tonight, and there was no other chance.
At night, Zhang Qiying and others were locked up in a five-room main house in the south of the village, which had neither wings nor courtyard walls, and was very close to Nanshan, as long as they could climb over the top of the mountain, they could save their lives. But the Japanese army guarded very tightly, and four Japanese soldiers were guarding with live ammunition, and there was really no way.
When it was dawn, the Japanese soldiers standing guard went to eat, leaving only one Japanese soldier to sit leisurely on the pyre, open the looted baggage, and find a few pieces of jewelry and cloth to look at.
It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Zhang Qiying held his breath hard, put his hands and feet together, took another breath, and brought them together again......
After doing this several times, the rope loosened, Zhang Qiying took off the rope on his body, and loosened the rope for the three colleagues who were arrested, and asked them to run quickly.
When the four of them ran out about 50 paces, gunshots rang out from behind, and they ran towards Nanshan with all their might. When the third shot rang out, Ding Linzi fell, blood pouring out of his face. Zhang Qiying knew that Ding Linzi was no longer good, so he couldn't bear to run out.
The fourth shot rang out, Zhang Qiying felt that his right leg suddenly flashed, he couldn't care so much, and ran towards the front. Zhang Qiying jumped down the ravine and found a small hole washed out by water in the ravine, and the hole was surrounded by small trees and barley, and Zhang Qiying got into it.
He sat down in this small hole and calmed down, and hurriedly tore the trouser leg of his right leg, only to see a hole in the stomach of an egg yolk, and blood was constantly flowing out. Zhang Qiying hurriedly tore off his shirt, wrapped the wound, and tied the wound tightly with a strip of cloth to stop the bleeding.
At this time, Zhang Qiying had no strength at all, panting with his mouth open, and his thirst was unbearable. He struggled to block the hole with some black locust and fell headlong in the hole, knowing nothing.
After dawn the next day, Zhang Qiying woke up, knowing that he would starve to death sooner or later when he lay in the cave. He struggled to climb out of the hole and bumped into an old man with a sixtieth armor on a small weir. When the old man saw that he was seriously injured, he went back to the village to find some young men and carried him back to the village with a door panel to recuperate.
With the enthusiastic help of the villagers, Zhang Qiying was treated, and after seven or eight days of recuperation, he was finally able to walk slowly. Seven or eight more youths were sent from the village to carry him home. Zhang Qiying finally escaped and escaped from the hands of the murderous Japanese invaders.
After returning home, Zhang Qiying learned that the three teachers who fled together, Liu Rende and Yu Zhiping, had successfully escaped, but Ding Linzi was unfortunately killed. Ding Linzi's death was a pity, he almost escaped from the tiger's mouth by a little bit.
Decades later, when recalling this past, Zhang Qiying said: He was able to escape with two colleagues because of one of his stunts, which is "bone shrinking skills", which was taught by his grandfather when he practiced martial arts since childhood.
This technique, which can be used to get out by contracting the abdomen and bones and joints while being tied, is only used by him as a way to strengthen his body, but he did not expect this stunt to save his life and the lives of his two colleagues.
History cannot be forgotten that Zhang Qiying's experience truly recorded the ferocity of the Japanese army and the hardships of the common people. It is really not easy for ordinary people to escape from the clutches of the Japanese army...... [Text/Yiye Wenshi]
