On April 12, the 2024 Mission Hills FILA GOLF Golf Golf Golf Marathon officially kicked off at Mission Hills Dongguan, marking the successful start of the 21st edition of the amateur golf carnival. Registration for the event is still in full swing, and anyone who registers before April 30 will receive a Mission Hills Green Ticket.
On the opening day, intangible cultural heritage handicraft projects from Mission Hills Craft Workshop and various communities in Tangxia Town, Dongguan City, also came to the site to participate in the performance. More than 10 intangible cultural heritage experience booths, such as pottery, paper-cutting, lampwork, leather art, mahogany carving, and sponge cake making, attracted the participation of golfers. The lamp master sprayed the glass with high temperature, and then kneaded it into the shape of various soft and cute little animals, which attracted the praise of the audience. The well-known "Sponge Cake Woman" brought delicious Tangxia handmade pastries such as sponge cakes, tea fruits, Dafa cakes, bean bags and so on. This is the first time that Mission Hills has tried to combine intangible cultural heritage handicrafts with golf marathons, and Han Zhishan, General Manager of Mission Hills Golf Club, said that both golf and intangible cultural heritage handicrafts are a "craft" that needs to be tempered and polished to achieve exquisite skills.
Registration for the tournament is still open, and it is understood that all golfers who register before April 30, 2024 will receive a Mission Hills e-Green Ticket. Competitors who complete the tournament in 9 different styles of course within 5 days will receive a Certificate of Honor from Mission Hills and a green ticket.
This year's competition is divided into men's evergreen group, men's group, women's group, junior men's group (15-17 years old), junior men's group (12-14 years old) and junior women's group (12-17 years old). All competitors must complete one qualifier each of the nine courses of the World Cup, Vijay, Fedo, Shoji Ozaki, Ace, Groman, Leadart, Libertayter, Annika and Olasabao within a five-month period. The top 100 finalists will compete in the 2024 Mission Hills Marathon Finals.
The Grand Finale will be held on September 30, 2024 at Mission Hills Olasabao Course in Dongguan, and the overall winner will have a chance to qualify for the 2025 Mission Hills Golf Marathon and receive a Mission Hills Haikou International Golf Resort Package: 2 nights' accommodation in a spa villa and 2 green vouchers for Haikou Golf Course.
Last year, the 20th marathon set a record of more than 11,000 participants, and the successful opening of the 21st marathon marks the successful entry of the golf marathon into its third decade.
