Ma Ying-jeou's visit to the mainland
Beginning on April 1, Beijing time, former Kuomintang Chairman Ma Ying-jeou began a 10-day visit to the mainland. Moreover, this time, Ma Ying-jeou also led the student representatives from Taiwan and participated in a series of important activities in the mainland.
In fact, this trip is Ma Ying-jeou's second visit to the mainland. During his previous visit to the mainland, Ma Ying-jeou visited his hometown of Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, and at the same time had cordial and friendly exchanges with teachers and students of Hunan University.
This time, after arriving on the mainland, Ma Ying-jeou not only visited the former residence of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, but also went to Shaanxi to participate in the public memorial ceremony of the Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor. In the end, Ma Ying-jeou and his entourage arrived in Beijing for a visit along with mainland staff.
After Ma Ying-jeou returned to the Taiwan region, he once again brought up the '92 consensus reached between the two sides of the strait in front of the media cameras. Moreover, Ma Ying-jeou has repeatedly stressed that the "consensus of '92" is the basis for maintaining peace and stability between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Subsequently, many media on the island of Taiwan and Hong Kong spoke highly of Ma Ying-jeou's visit to the mainland. However, the DPP's recent signals to the mainland have not been so kind.
Lai Qingde's "Three Major Events"

The second is to strengthen the "self-defense" capability of Taiwan's "defense sector."
The third is to "cleanse" people's hearts and build consensus throughout Taiwan. There is no doubt that Lai Ching-te's strategy is to intensify "Taiwan independence" propaganda in the Taiwan region and create a deeper emotional rift between the people on both sides of the strait, so as to achieve his goal of promoting "Taiwan independence."
After Lai Qingde made this statement, representatives of the Kuomintang directly scolded Lai Qingde in public. Many people believe that the strategy of "washing" people's hearts proposed by Lai Qingde is brainwashing Taiwan's 23 million people.
