Transportation, sanitation, water supply, drainage...... These are all important components of the city's operation guarantee, ensuring the daily life of the people. At present, Beijing's municipal enterprises are accelerating scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation, accelerating the development of new quality productive forces, and promoting the steady improvement of the level of urban security.

Commuting buses have the "strongest brain"

On the afternoon of April 11, walking into the Beijing Bus Dispatching and Command Center, on the main screen, a huge road network map shows the operation of buses on the main roads in the central city, and each bus uses different color markers.

"The different colors represent the full load rate of the bus, green means the full load rate is low, and red represents the high load rate. Wang Chao, business director of the bus group line network center, introduced that through the large screen, the dispatcher can see the driving speed, full load rate and battery margin of each bus, and can also monitor the road congestion in real time, which is convenient for the accurate scheduling of bus capacity.

On the large screen on the left side of the dispatching and command center, it is the "exclusive area" of the commute line. Through the large screen, the dispatcher sits in the command center and can know the operation status of all commuting buses in the city in real time. "Whether the order in the car is good and whether the driver is attentive can be transmitted back to the command center in real time through the video system and positioning system to ensure the safety of every student on the way to school. Wang Chao introduced.

Up to now, Beijing has a total of 263 commute routes, serving 101 schools, with an average daily volume of 434 buses, 932 trains, and 18,200 students transported every day.

At the beginning of the new semester, 400 new second-generation commuter buses were delivered to Beijing buses, including three sizes of 12 meters, 8 meters and 6 meters. Among them, the 6-meter "mini" commute model is mainly aimed at schools in narrow streets and alleys, and it is more convenient to turn and make a U-turn.

"Now the school route has been recognized by the majority of parents and students. Xu Di, business director of the bus network center of the bus group, introduced that in the future, these school buses will be used in the service of the school on the basis of the compound use of the conventional routes, the school bus in the implementation of the school mission, you can choose the nearest line or station, put into the operation of the regular bus line, so that the school bus really serves the travel of more citizens.

Robot "flaw detection" for the train in the air

In the Yancun Depot of the Fangshan Line, the "Mobile Frame Weld Inspection Robot" jointly developed by Beijing Metro and its partners has completed commissioning and training, and after it is put into use, it will greatly save the maintenance cycle of subway trains and improve production efficiency.

"When the train is in contact with the track, it will cause vibration, and the bogie is prone to subtle fatigue cracks. Huang Yue, a first-level expert of the metro company, introduced that the flaw detection robot adopts advanced multi-channel eddy current sensing, three-dimensional visual image recognition, intelligent robot control collaboration, etc. as technical support, and automatically realizes the defect detection of the weld surface and near the surface of the frame without the need for pretreatment such as paint stripping on the bogie frame.

In the process of "flaw detection", a magnetic field coil is generated through an eddy current probe similar to the role of a doctor's stethoscope, and the detection results will be uploaded to the server synchronously, so that the maintenance personnel can make timely judgments and make corresponding disposals. In the whole process, intelligent actions such as automatic calibration, automatic positioning, automatic scanning, analysis and judgment have been realized, and the intelligent upgrade of the traditional "flaw detection" operation mode has been completed.

At present, the "flaw detection" of the bogie frame of the Fangshan line electric train needs to be dismantled and transported to the factory for operation, which takes up to 15 days. After the "entry" of the flaw detection robot, the time to complete the flaw detection of a train frame is reduced to 6 to 7 days, and the economic benefits and production efficiency will be increased by more than 50%.

Hydrogen energy sanitation vehicles will be put on the job in the future

In the future, in the sub-center of the city, whether in the urban area or the township, residents can enjoy a full range of high-standard professional sanitation services.

Xu Chuanlin, deputy general manager of Beijing Environmental Sanitation Group, introduced that in February 2024, in order to gradually solve the problem of different urban and rural cleaning standards in the sub-center of the city, Beijing Environmental Sanitation Group promoted the 751 square kilometers of environmental sanitation cleaning and cleaning integration project in Tongzhou District, and further extended professional sanitation services to towns and rural areas, covering 9 townships and towns such as Songzhuang Town, Taihu Town, and Zhangjiawan Town, and building a "large sanitation, full coverage" urban and rural integrated sanitation service system. In addition to road cleaning, public toilet cleaning and other services, it will also include green space cleaning, road guardrail wiping, small advertising cleaning, etc. into the scope of services, providing full coverage, three-dimensional comprehensive services, and truly realizing the unification of urban and rural sanitation service standards and quality.

At the same time, relying on its own professional advantages, Beijing Environmental Sanitation Group actively promotes professional sanitation services into units and communities, and will serve Peking University People's Hospital, Yanbao Yindi Home and other units and communities from 2024, investing in sweeping robots, sweepers and other equipment, and building a "sanitation + property" comprehensive service model to serve the last mile of environmental governance.

In terms of environmental sanitation science and technology support, Beijing Environmental Sanitation Group continues to promote the upgrading of sanitation vehicles in the direction of "unmanned" and "intelligent", and will also promote the use of hydrogen energy sanitation vehicles in the future. At present, the environmental sanitation group is working with relevant municipal state-owned enterprises to jointly develop an 18-ton hydrogen fuel cell unmanned cleaning vehicle, and the next step will be to promote the superposition of hydrogen energy sanitation vehicles in Yizhuang, Daxing and other areas to lead a new mode of sanitation operation.

The water supply network is the first to use satellite leak detection

The Municipal Water Supply Group is responsible for the water supply business in the central urban area of Beijing and several suburban new towns, with 50 water plants with a total daily water supply capacity of 6.3 million cubic meters and a total length of more than 16,000 kilometers of water supply pipelines.

Liu Kuo, deputy chief engineer of the Municipal Water Supply Group, said that at present, Beijing is the first in China to apply the new technology of satellite leakage detection to "take pictures and do physical examinations" for the water supply pipe network from space, so as to achieve a wide range of comprehensive and rapid leakage detection, and improve the efficiency of leakage detection. In addition, the water supply group has also set up more than 3,000 leakage monitoring recorders in key places, key roads and areas prone to pipeline leakage, and found hidden dangers of damage in time by continuously monitoring pipeline leakage noise. In 2023, more than 3,000 leaks in the pipe network will be actively detected, saving more than 2,600 cubic meters of water.

"In fact, the size of the leakage is also related to the water pressure. If there is a leak, the higher the water pressure, the more water leaks. Reasonable reduction of network pressure can reduce leakage. Liu Kuo introduced that at present, the water supply group accurately identifies local high-pressure areas and low-pressure areas by carrying out pipe network pressure diagnosis and analysis, reduces redundant pressure, improves pressure balance, and automatically generates an optimal scheduling plan. In 2023, a total of about 9 million cubic meters of water will be saved and 2.1 million kilowatt-hours of electricity will be saved.

Two unique technologies for efficient wastewater treatment

How to make sewage treatment more efficient in urban operation? Bai Yu, Director of the Technology Department of Beijing Drainage Group, shared two unique technologies independently developed.

One of them is the red bacteria technology, which is also academically known as the anaerobic ammonia oxidative denitrification technology. In the past 100 years, the traditional "nitrification-denitrification" technology has been used in the denitrification of sewage treatment, which has to go through a "four-step method" to turn ammonia nitrogen into nitrogen in water, so as to avoid eutrophication such as water blooms. The Rhodobacterium technology has changed from the original "four steps" to "two steps", which reduces the addition of carbon sources, chemicals and aeration, and the sewage treatment process is more advanced and energy-saving.

Another technology is aerobic granular sludge technology. This technology forms granular sludge through the microbial self-coagulation of flocculent sludge, which increases the sedimentation rate by 5 times, the abundance of functional bacteria by more than 2 times, and the sewage treatment capacity by at least 20%, which accelerates the sewage treatment efficiency, saves about 15% of energy consumption, and saves more than 30% of the land area. Relying on this technology, Beijing has built the country's largest urban sewage aerobic granular sludge project, which can treat 80,000 tons of sewage per day. In 2024, Beijing will also build a new demonstration project of 100,000 tons, which is under construction.

"The future sewage plant is no longer just a closed water plant for sewage treatment and pollutant removal in the past, it will become an open and beautiful environmental subject in the future, and it will also be a new water source plant, a new energy plant and a new resource recovery plant. Bai Yu said. (Li Bo)
