JinkoSolar launched the ultra-quiet Blue Whale 5MWh large storage system and 314Ah self-developed battery cells.
On April 11, JinkoSolar unveiled the Blue Whale's 5MWh large-scale energy storage system SunTera G2 and 314Ah self-developed battery cells at the 12th Energy Storage Summit & Exhibition (ESIE). Combined with the commercial, industrial, residential energy storage and photovoltaic module products on display at the same time, the launch of JinkoSolar's new generation of smart storage products fully demonstrated JinkoSolar's high-quality product capabilities and diversified photovoltaic storage solutions to the market.
It is understood that the SunTera G2 liquid-cooled energy storage system on the source side of Jinko Blue Whale is an ultra-quiet 5MWh energy storage system that can be mass-produced in the industry, and the noise can be controlled within 75db, which reduces the impact of the energy storage system on the surrounding environment during use. As a global version, the system adopts a standard 20-foot container structure designed by 1P104S large PACK, which is suitable for domestic and overseas markets. The 314Ah lithium iron phosphate battery cell equipped with the system adopts a non-uniform fine flow channel, and the temperature difference of the PACK is controlled within 2°C to ensure that the system operates within the optimal temperature range.
In addition, the product has the advantages of "three highs, two lows and one long", that is, high energy density, high energy efficiency, high security, low operation and maintenance, low auxiliary power consumption, and long life. Compared with the previous generation of products, SunTera G2 supports A/B cabinet design, suitable for 2h and 4h scenario applications, and supports back-to-back and shoulder-to-shoulder placement with single-sided door opening, increasing the area utilization rate by more than 37%, increasing the system RTE by 2%, and achieving an overall efficiency of 94%+. The SOC estimation accuracy is less than 3%, and the auxiliary power consumption is reduced by 20% overall, which improves the overall reliability of the system and reduces the operation and maintenance cost (O&M).
When the cycle life of the system is increased from 7,000 cycles in the past to 8,000 cycles (capacity decay to 70%), the service life of the product is greatly improved. At the same time, it is equipped with JinkoSolar's self-developed energy storage big data cloud platform, which supports online monitoring and remote upgrade to ensure the safety and controllability of the entire life cycle of the energy storage system. It is reported that the Jinko Blue Whale 5MWh energy storage system will complete the system prototype on April 15, and the project will have the conditions for mass production by the end of May.
JinkoSolar launched the first 314Ah dedicated energy storage cell, marking the beginning of Jinko's large-capacity battery era. This product has the characteristics of high energy efficiency, long life and high safety. In terms of safety, more than 20 safety tests such as acupuncture, thermal runaway, impact, combustion injection, extrusion, and short circuit have been carried out to ensure that the cells are more safe and reliable in different application scenarios. It is reported that starting in the third quarter of 2024, Jinko Energy Storage will officially put into operation the first phase of 5GWh energy storage cell product production capacity and meet the conditions for mass production and shipment. Jinko's self-developed 314Ah battery cells are committed to creating zero accidents in energy storage safety and pursuing the ultimate safety performance of batteries.
In addition to the launch of the new generation of smart storage products, the company also exhibited its core products Jinko Dolphin C&I energy storage system SunGiga, Jinko Flying Bear Residential Energy Storage SunTank, and N-type Tiger Neo 72 and 66 bifacial modules. JinkoSolar's all-field "photovoltaic + energy storage" solution can cover multiple application scenarios.
