After consulting the information, it was determined by the relevant personnel of the local forestry and grassland department that it is a national first-class protected animal, and it is very healthy and safe. It is reported that this is also the first time that the painted ibis has been found in Huidong. Because the painted ibis is related to the rare birds black-faced spoonbill, white spoonbill, and China's famous and unique "national treasure" bird, the crested ibis, which was once recognized as extinct in China by the Red Book of China's Endangered Animals.

In the river beach, the painted ibis forages leisurely and lives in harmony with other wildlife such as herons.
The reporter learned from the Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Huidong County that the painted ibis found this time belongs to the traveling birds, passing through Huidong on the way to migrate, because the ecological environment here is suitable for their life, so they stay in the trevally river, and will migrate again after replenishing their physical strength.
Huidong County has always attached great importance to the protection of birds and other wild animals, through the establishment of the forest chief system and the river and lake chief system, strengthen the protection of wetlands, forest areas and other habitats, gradually improve the wildlife protection law enforcement system, carry out a number of special law enforcement actions and daily inspections, severely crack down on illegal activities involving wild animals and plants, and constantly improve the protection network of migratory birds and other wild animals and their habitats, providing a high-quality living environment for wild animals.
