In the Bailiu Canal section of Mengjiayuan Village, Qinshi Township, two excavators are dredging ditches. Bailiu Canal rises from the Jingjiang River embankment, connects to the West Trunk Canal, flows through Puji Town, Xionghe Town, Qinshi Township, is an important drainage and irrigation channel in the local area, but because of disrepair, the channel is seriously stagnant and blocked. In order to improve the water environment of the channel, Qinshi Township has started the canal dredging and remediation work through upstream and downstream cooperation and sub-bid implementation, which is currently progressing smoothly.

At the same time, the water conservancy project in Qinshi Township is also advancing. At the Yongfeng Drainage Pumping Station, workers are seizing the good weather for construction. The construction period of Yongfeng drainage pumping station is 180 days, with a total investment of 2 million yuan, and the project has entered the final stage, and strives to be put into use before the main flood season. The opening of the pumping station will reasonably regulate the upstream water of Yongfeng Canal and realize the discharge of sewage after reaching the standard.

Yongfeng Drainage Pumping Station Project Leader Dewey: When there was no pumping station, the sewage was directly discharged from the channel to the West Trunk Canal, and now with this pumping station, after the sewage is treated, it is discharged from this pump through this pumping station.

Since the beginning of this year, Qinshi Township, Jiangling County, has compacted the responsibilities of the chief of rivers and lakes, comprehensively investigated the drainage quality of 497 outlets in 28 major channels in the township, investigated the causes of problems, decomposed the target tasks, and implemented classified management of one mouth and one policy; at the same time, more than 300 party members and volunteers in the township were mobilized to carry out a concentrated attack on the four chaotic rectification of rivers and canals, so as to comprehensively improve the water environment.
