Both switches are circuit breakers used in domestic and similar settings, are designed for use by non-professionals, and do not require maintenance.

Everyone is familiar with small leakage, and it is usually called leakage protection. It is generally used in today's home distribution box. The second type of leakage protection switch is less common, but it is also used. Since some of these two types of switches have similar shapes, you need to pay attention to the different functions of the two types of switches. The easiest way to distinguish between the two is that the standard number marked on the circuit breaker body is different.

Let's talk about the leakage protection principle of these two types of leakage circuit breakers. When the power cord of the electrical appliance leaks electricity to the shell or exposed conductive parts of the electrical appliance, the human body touches these parts, and the current will flow to the earth through the human body, and the zero-sequence current transformer in the leakage circuit breaker will detect that the vector combination of the current in the line is not zero (it is zero in normal times), and the residual current relay will act at this time, and the tripping mechanism will be driven to trip the circuit breaker.

This is the protection situation when the appliance is not grounded. Let's talk about the protection of the electrical enclosure when it is grounded. When the power line of the electrical appliance leaks electricity to the electrical shell or exposed conductive parts, the current will flow to the ground through the ground wire, and the zero-sequence current transformer of the leakage circuit breaker will detect that the current vector in the line is no longer zero. The residual current relay will also act, and the switch will also trip protection.

But there is a little difference between having a ground wire and not having a ground wire! Let's talk about the difference.

1. In the case of a grounding wire:

Your kitchen appliances or water heaters and other electrical equipment leaks! In the case of a grounding wire! The moment you plug in the socket, the leakage protector will trip directly! You can't send electricity! It won't hurt the human body!

2. In the absence of a ground wire:

The simplest, your iron enclosure of the electrical equipment! The live wire is directly connected to the casing! And the neutral wire does not touch the casing! You just put it on the wooden coffee table or table! And the power cord only has the neutral wire, and the live wire is not grounded! Then it will not trip when your hand does not touch the electrical equipment! Because there is no circuit with the earth! When your finger touches the metal casing, it will instantly electrify you! A circuit will be formed! Then the leakage protector will trip!

That is to say: if there is a ground wire, it will be powered off if it will not be electrified, and if there is no ground wire, it will be powered off after a while!
