Text/Master Hongyi

The Three Jewels, the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha. Its meaning is very broad, and now it is only a small part of the righteous ear.

Those who speak of Buddha today, and about Buddha statues, such as wood and stone sculptures and paper paintings. Those who speak the Dharma today, and in terms of albums such as the Sutra and the Law, they are either printed or written. The monks who speak today, and about the ordinary monks of the world, are attached to the Buddha because of the Bodhisattva Arhats.

01

Worship the Buddha

Here are a few things that ordinary people should pay attention to: when worshipping the Buddha, it is advisable to wash your hands and rinse your mouth, be sincere and respectful, worship slowly, do not be in a hurry, rather worship less, not hastily.

The Buddha is clean, the incense is straight, and the things of the Buddha are cooked exquisitely and can be eaten. Nowadays, it is very disrespectful to offer to the Buddha with raw materials and canned food, and Master Lotus Yi has denounced it in his "Great Compassion Mantra Practice".

It is also advisable to offer to the Buddha before noon, not after noon. Fruit should also be offered before noon. The water supply should be held in the Feng style. Flowers and vases should be changed frequently.

The Buddha statue painted on paper should not be framed only with silk, and it is afraid of being infected with filth such as fly droppings (those with fewer flies may be). It should be fitted into a glass mirror.

For sculptures such as wood and stone, the small ones should be put into the glass niche, and the large ones should be covered with treasures, and the dust on the statue must be wiped frequently.

In the main hall and the room for offering to the Buddha, it is not suitable to sit and laugh and talk. For example, the king's ministers and even guests should be respectful and cautious of their dignity, let alone the Buddha statue.

Do not dry clothes in front of the Buddha, it should be sideways. It is forbidden to water the flowers with a pot of water in the night pot in front of the temple. If there is a Buddha statue in the bedroom, it should be covered with a clean cloth when sleeping.

There is no distinction between monks, no laughter in the main hall, and no clothes in front of the Buddha...... In this way, it can be called the Three Jewels of Respect

02

Respect for the law

Here are a few things that ordinary people should pay attention to: When reading the scriptures, you must wash your mouth and wipe a few times, your clothes should be neat, and your dignity should be solemn, which is no different from when you worship the Buddha.

Master Lotus Yun: "The scroll is like a living Buddha, and the scroll is like at present, thousands of times, and it is never forgotten, so that you can get the practical benefit of reading the scriptures." "The scriptures should be respected and not tarnished.

When turning the page, it is advisable to gently turn it with the fingertips, not to scratch the fingers, and should not fold the corners. If the scriptures are mutilated, they should not be burned. If there are scriptures on the top of the bedroom, they should be covered with a clean cloth when sleeping.

Honorable Monk

Here are a few things that ordinary people should pay attention to: If you take refuge in the Three Jewels, you should not take refuge in someone in vain.

Because the person who takes refuge is a monk, not a person. It should be for all monks, if virtuous or foolish, equal-minded, sincere and respectful, respect them as teachers, and call themselves disciples. It is in line with the righteousness of taking refuge in the Sangha.

Offering to the monks. It should not be offered exclusively to the virtuous, but should be offered to all monks and students equally, and it should be offered universally, so that great merit can be obtained.

The merit of one person is small, and the merit of the public is great. If a monk is at fault, he should not speak lightly about it when his family hears about it. This is what the Buddha admonished, and it is best to be cautious.
