Switch and socket installation engineering technical disclosure

author:Mechanical and electrical world

This chapter applies to the installation of switches and sockets for indoor electrical lighting.

1. Material Requirements

1.1 All types of switches: specifications and models must meet the design requirements and have product certificates.

1.2 All types of sockets: specifications and models must meet the design requirements and have product certificates.

1.3 Plastic (table) board should have sufficient strength. The plastic (table) plate should be flat, without bending and warping, and there should be a product certificate.

1.4 Wooden (table) board: its thickness shall meet the design requirements and the provisions of the construction specifications. The surface of the board should be smooth, without wall cracks and warping deformation, and the paint layer should be intact and not fall off.

1.5 Other materials: metal expansion bolts, plastic expansion pipes, galvanized wood screws, galvanizer screws, wood bricks, etc.

2. Main implements

2.1 Red pencils, tape measures, levels, wire sinkers, insulated gloves, tool bags, high stools, etc.

2.2 Hand hammers, chisels, wire strippers, needle-nose pliers, tie cones, taps, casings, electric drills, electric hammers, drill bits, nail guns, etc.

3. Operating conditions

3.1 All kinds of pipes and boxes have been laid. The box closes flat.

3.2 The conductor of the line has been worn and the insulation shake test has been completed.

3.3 The interior decoration work such as wall pulp, painting and wallpaper has been completed.

4. Operate the process

Process:

Clean → wiring → installation

4.1 Cleanup

Use a chisel to gently remove the remaining ash in the box, and at the same time remove other debris from the outside of the box, and then wipe the dust in the box with a damp cloth.

4.2 Wiring

(1) General wiring regulations

A switch wiring: (a) the switch cut-off position in the same place should be consistent, and the operation is flexible, and the contact contact is reliable; (b) the phase wire of electrical appliances and lamps should be controlled by the switch.

B Socket wiring: (a) There are two types of single-phase two-hole sockets: horizontal and vertical. When installed horizontally, the upper pole facing the socket is connected to the phase wire, and the lower pole is connected to the neutral wire. (b) The grounding or neutral line of single-phase three-hole and three-phase four-hole should be above. (c) When AC, DC or sockets of different voltages are installed in the same place, there should be obvious differences, and their plugs and sockets cannot be substituted for each other.

(2) Prepare for installing switches and sockets.

First, leave the wire thrown out of the box for maintenance, cut out the core, and be careful not to hurt the core. Coil the wire clockwise on the binding post corresponding to the switch and socket, and then tighten the indenter. In the case of single-core conductors, the core can also be inserted directly into the terminal hole and pressed with a jackscrew. Note that the core must not be exposed.

4.3 Installation of switches and sockets

(1) General installation provisions

A switch installation provisions: (a) the height of the cable switch from the ground is generally 2-3m, from the door is 150-200mm, and the outlet of the wire should be downward; (b) the height of the lever switch from the ground is 1.4m, from the door is 150-200mm; (c) the panel of the concealed switch should be upright, tight and flat with the wall; (d) the switch position should correspond to the lamp position, and the direction of the switch in the same room should be consistent; (e) The height of the switches installed in a row should be the same, the height difference should not be more than 2mm, and the adjacent spacing of the cable switch should not be less than 20mm;(f) The waterproof porcelain cable switch or the protective box should be installed in dusty and wet places and outdoors;(g) In flammable, explosive and particularly humid places, the switch should be explosion-proof and airtight respectively, or installed in other places for control;(h) It is strictly forbidden to install bedside switches in civil residences;(i) The switches laid by open wires should be installed on a wooden platform with a thickness of not less than 15mm.

B Socket installation regulations: (a) concealed and industrial sockets should not be less than 30cm from the ground, (b) safety sockets should be used in children's activity places. When using ordinary sockets, the installation height should not be less than 1.8m;(c) the height difference of the sockets installed in the same room should not be greater than 5mm;the height difference of the sockets installed in rows should not be greater than 2mm;(d) the sockets installed in concealed sockets should have a special box, and the cover plate should be upright and tight and flat with the wall; (e) the floor socket should have a protective cover;(f) the socket should not be installed in particularly humid and flammable, explosive gas and dust places.

(2) Switch and socket installation:

A Concealed switches and sockets:

According to the wiring requirements, connect the wire thrown out of the box with the panel of the switch and socket, push the switch or socket into the box (if the box is deep, more than 2.5cm, the box should be installed), align the box eye, and fix it firmly with machine screws. When fixing, make the panel upright and flush with the wall.

B Surface-mounted switches and sockets:

First, the wire thrown out of the box is pierced through the outlet hole of the plastic (wooden) table, and then the plastic (wooden) table is tightly attached to the wall and fixed on the box or wooden brick with screws. After the plastic (wooden) table is fixed, the thrown out phase wire and ground (zero) wire are threaded out of the wire hole of the switch and socket according to their respective positions, and the wire is pressed firmly according to the wiring requirements. Then attach the switch or socket to the plastic (wooden) table, align it, and fix it firmly with wooden screws. Finally, put the cover plate of the switch and socket on the plate.

5. Quality standards

5.1 Warranty Items

The grounding (zero) protection measures of the socket must comply with the relevant provisions of the construction acceptance specification.

Inspection Method: Observe and inspect the installation records.

5.2 Basic Items

(1) The installation position of the switch and socket is correct. The inside of the box is clean, free of debris, the surface is clean and not deformed, and the cover is close to the surface of the building.

(2) The switch cuts off the phase wire. The wire entering the appliance is well insulated and does not damage the core. The grounding of the socket is laid separately and is not allowed to be mixed with the working neutral line.

Test Method: Observation and Energized Inspection.

5.3 Allowable deviations

(1) When the bottom plate of the open switch and socket is installed in parallel with the panel of the concealed switch and socket, the height difference between the switch and the socket is allowed to be 0.5mm.

(2) The height difference in the same place is 5 mm.

(3) The permissible vertical deviation of the panel is 0.5mm.

Inspection method: hanging line, ruler inspection.

6. Finished product protection

6.1 Do not damage the wall when installing switches and sockets, and keep the wall clean.

6.2 After the switch and socket are installed, no spraying should be carried out again to keep the panel clean.

6.3 During the construction of other types of work, do not break or touch the switches and sockets.

7. Quality issues that should be paid attention to

7.1 If the panel of the switch and socket is uneven and there is a gap between it and the surface of the building, the panel should be adjusted and then the fixing screws should be tightened to make it close to the surface of the building.

7.2 If the switch is not disconnected, the crimping of the phase wire, neutral wire and ground wire of the socket is chaotic, and it should be corrected as required.

7.3 The multi-lamp room switch does not correspond to the order of the control lamp. When wiring, the wires of each lamp should be carefully distinguished, crimped in turn, and ensure that the switch direction is consistent.

7.4 The screws that fix the panel are not uniform (there are slotted and Phillips screws). For aesthetic reasons, uniform screws should be used.

7.5 The difference in the installation height of switches and sockets in the same room exceeds the allowable deviation range and should be corrected in time.

7.6 The iron pipe into the box guard falls off or is missing. When installing switches and socket wiring, attention should be paid to bringing the mouth guards.

7.7 The switch and socket panel have been installed, but the box is too deep (more than 2.5cm) and has not been treated with a box, so it should be repaired in time.

7.8 The wiring of the arch in the switch and bolt box should be changed to the chicken claw to connect the main head of the wire, and then the branch wire should be connected to the end of each switch or socket.
