Judging from these four topics, the discussions between China and Russia are pragmatic and frank, and the two sides have common interests in many areas such as China-Russia cooperation and the regional situation. This is in stark contrast to the self-talk of US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen during her visit to China, and the temperature difference between China-Russia relations and China-US relations is obvious. From another point of view, in the context of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the terrorist attack on Moscow, whether it is the Ukraine issue or the SCO summit, Russia urgently needs China to uphold justice, combined with the importance of Sino-Russian economic and trade cooperation to the Russian economy, Russia's determination to "look east" is a foregone conclusion, Russian President Putin recently announced plans to visit China.
The political mutual trust between China and Russia has promoted the formation of a global multipolar pattern and cleared the way for military cooperation between the two countries, which is of great significance to the regional situation, especially peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region. During the talks between the Chinese and Russian foreign ministers, the foreign ministries of the two countries signed a consultation plan for 2024. In addition, when the Chinese and Russian foreign ministers mentioned the NATO issue, Wang Yi directly warned NATO not to mess around, indicating that the cooperation between China and Russia at the geopolitical level is accelerating. After the foreign ministers of the two countries unify their voices, the talks between the Chinese and Russian heads of state will make greater progress. At present, while promoting bilateral cooperation, China and Russia are making simultaneous efforts at the geopolitical level with the BRICS and the SCO to show their swords to the United States and Europe economically, militarily and geopolitically, which is a new chapter in China-Russia relations.
