Tai Chi Jin is not easy to express clearly in words, and what is said can only be a metaphor, and finally a metaphor is added, and the result will be confusing.

In the article "Reflections on Some Current Situations of Taijiquan", it is written that the strength of Taijiquan is "different from the force that is usually said, it is a special way of exerting force," and "the force of rolling is called strength." ”

Many fellow boxers asked: In this way, I still don't understand it, and it's a little unpredictable. The editor at the time also wrote: "Simply saying 'Tai Chi does not hit people hard' is very easy to cause confusion in the reader's understanding." I don't know if there is a more appropriate way to say it. "For more than a year, for more than a year, I have not said anything about it.

Today, I will not be superficial, but I will talk in more detail about the superficial views of the right people, in order to clear up the mystery in the hearts of the doubters.

What is the strength of Tai Chi

From a physical point of view, force is the mother of force, and without force, it doesn't matter if there is force, and force is inseparable from the category of force. The strength is the supreme force, the song of the force, the work of the force (the work and the work are connected), the law of the force, the effect of the force, and the movement of the force. Force is only based on size, slowness, and direction, while strength has both the attributes of rigidity and softness, and has its position, and contains its changes. Therefore, "strength is the way to make a curve, and force is the door to go straight".

From the perspective of chemistry, energy is the result of the "brewing" of the comprehensive factors of essence, qi, spirit, mind and force, and it has the attributes of virtuality and reality, rigidity and softness, yin and yang, and its properties have undergone fundamental changes. Void and reality, yin and yang, change and change, rigidity and softness duality push each other, harmony and integration repeatedly change and transform, and the interpretation of strength is ever-changing, endless. At this time, the strength is the factor of force, but it is by no means the same as force, and it is no longer as simple as force, or it is repetitive. It is the softening, coordination, integration, and unification of forces. It is sticky and casual, fast transmission, flexible strain, and soft to rigid, rigid and soft interchange, rigid and soft multiplication, rigid and soft are harmonious, yin and yang are virtuous. Therefore, some people also call it "vitality", and a movable word points out the characteristics of Tai Chi Jin.

Historically, Tai Chi practitioners have emphasized relaxation and softness, and carried out exercises with the intention of not exerting force, activating strength, and accumulating internal strength, rather than intentionally not using force.

The "Tai Chi Indication Method" (see Yang Chengfu's "Tai Chi Usage Method") clearly points out: "The strength is wrong, the force is not right (referring to the softness but no rigidity), and the strength is right." Teacher Yang Chengfu also pointed out in "Tai Chi Pure Miscellaneous": "There are not a few people who practice Tai Chi in the world. It is advisable to know that they are pure and mixed, and they are different in taste. Pure Tai Chi, its arms are like cotton wrapped in iron, soft and heavy. When you push your hand, you can tell the difference. When he takes people, his hands are so light that no one can pass them. When they are released, they are like taking off a projectile, quickly and simply, and they are not forced. Those who were dropped out, but felt a move, did not feel pain, and had fallen out of the balance. When it is sticky, it does not grasp, and it sticks gently, that is, it cannot be taken off like glue, which makes people's arms sore. This is true Tai Chi also. ”

The so-called real Tai Chi is what Yang Chengfu said in "Tai Chi Practice": "Tai Chi is the art ......of softness and rigidity, and the needle hidden in the Mianli" and the "needle" hidden in the Mianli is the internal strength, that is, the Tai Chi Jin. (Original: Wang Zhiyuan) Master Wu Tunan often said: "The so-called Tai Chi strength is also learning." That is, the force that we are born with or that comes from exercise is what we generally call our instinct. The special force generated through Tai Chi or Tai Chi training is called --- Tai Chi Jin.

Tai Chi Jin is a kind of energy excavated from the body, which can be stored and developed, can be rigid and soft, know how to control and use it, is to understand Jin, as long as you understand Jin, Tai Chi will be considered to be in the room. Therefore, Jin plays a decisive central role in Tai Chi. If you don't have energy, it's not tai chi.

The traditional culture of the motherland believes that essence, qi and god are the three treasures of the human body, which are the material basis of various functions of the human body, and that "essence" as a substance, through cultivation, can be continuously transformed into "qi", which can flow around the body under the regulation of the mind, and promote the enhancement of the body's metabolism, thereby generating energy and power. This process is what the Chinese medicine calls the "gasification" process. This kind of energy is born from the essence and commanded by the will, where there is, it can be rigid and soft, flickering and flickering, and the unpredictable strength is called Tai Chi Jin. Taijiquan internal strength is a kind of potential that is stimulated by practicing internal strength, and it is not enough to rely on internal strength only in the technique, but it is necessary to practice the kung fu of the whole body and practice a kind of overall strength. Therefore, Tai Chi emphasized, "Strength starts from the feet, starts from the legs, and dominates the waist." ”

How to understand the strength of Tai Chi

Tai Chi Jin is composed of two strengths, one is from the outside to the inside, and the other is from the inside to the outside.

The meaning of receiving, absorbing, receiving, and adducting. Strength is the strength from the outside to the inside. The intent of the retraction is to take back the energy that is released, and if there is a huge force to absorb the outside things.

Penetration, penetration, penetration, the meaning of transparency. Penetrating strength is the strength from the inside out. Penetrating the strength is intended to penetrate the energy inside the body outward, as if a huge force rushes outward from the body.

The two forces kiss each other, that is, the strength is the adduction of the strength, the strength should help the strength to reach outward, the strength should be the release of the strength, and the strength should help the strength to absorb people inward. So far, the two energies are through, and the end is connected, so it is called Tai Chi Jin.

The yin and yang coordination in Tai Chi Jin and non-Tai Chi Jin (external forces) are two different structural systems, so they exhibit different structural functions. In the external force system, the two opposing forces are in a state of alternating operation, such as the two opposite forces of the closing force and the penetrating force, but they cooperate by giving way to each other to achieve the synergy of the two. In the Tai Chi Jin system, the two opposing forces coexist and penetrate each other at the same time, forming a state of mutual operation.

Tai Chi Jin is divided into three kinds, long strength, short strength, Shen Jin, on this basis derived from many strength methods.

The establishment of strength is important to "head hanging (virtual collar top strength) and enriching the dantian qi". It belongs to the inner cultivation. We often say "Tai Chi Jin", that is, because "it seems to be loose but not loose, and it will not be exhibited". That is, "Taijiquan Theory" said "get the opportunity and get the momentum".

The practice of Tai Chi Jin

Softening is the basis of the power of movement.

Mr. Meng Naichang said: "Softness is also strength, softness is internal strength, and internal strength contains rigidity." "The direction of development after softness must be light and nihilistic. This is in line with the principle of small force winning vigorously and overcoming rigidity with softness. ”

Lightness is the main feature of Tai Chi and the main way to get started.

Wu Jianquan said: "...... Light is the starting point of Tai Chi. "Light but not floating, spiritual but not sluggish, the spirit stretches the body, the limbs are hundred, the air is loose and round, the light and the spirit are transparent, the qi and blood are smooth, and the internal strength is self-generated.

Shen, teacher Li Yaxuan said: "Heaviness and lightness are a feeling after oneself is loosened. If the fruit can be loosened, the whole body will feel heavy (it is natural weight, not force). ”

Yang Gongchengfu said: "A person who is skilled in Taijiquan Kung Fu has arms like cotton wrapped in iron, and the weight is extremely heavy. This is not only the softness of the strength but also the heaviness of the strength, which is a portrayal of the real Tai Chi Jin.
