BYD was also the champion, with sales of 302459 units in March, including 301631 passenger cars, up 147.8% month-on-month. The cumulative sales volume in the first quarter of 2024 was 626263 units, a year-on-year increase of 13.44%.
In second place is Chery Group, which sold 181,585 vehicles in March 2024, up 45.3% year-on-year, and 529,604 vehicles sold in the first quarter, up 60.3% year-on-year.
Chery Automobile sold 116,927 units in March, up 40.7% y/y, and 350,314 units in January-March, up 57.6% y/y.
JTU sold 35,503 units in March, up 82% year-over-year, and 107,476 units in January-March, up 106.9% year-over-year.
Xingtu Auto sold 6,653 units in March, up 3% year-over-year, and 23,493 units in January-March, up 44.4% year-over-year.

In March, passenger car sales were only under the Chery, Jietu, Xingtu and iCAR brands, excluding exports, and Chery sold more than 160,000 units, surpassing Geely and Changan Automobile.

Changan's Chinese brand passenger car sales in the first quarter were 437301 units, up 10.4% year-on-year. According to the sales volume of 341952 units in January and February, it can be calculated that the sales volume of Changan's Chinese brand passenger cars in March was 95,349 units, less than 100,000 units.
Great Wall Motors, the fifth place, sold 100276 units in March, a year-on-year increase of 11.02%, and returned to the 100,000 club again. The cumulative sales volume in January ~ March reached 275333, a year-on-year increase of 25.11%. Among them, the sales of new energy vehicles in March were 21,882, a year-on-year increase of 66.34%. Overseas sales were 35,815 units, a year-on-year increase of 60.66%.
