IT Home News on April 8, source @Olrak29_ recently tweeted and shared relevant information about the AMD Zen 5 Ryzen APU lineup, showing that there will be three series: Strix, Kraken and Sonoma.
The above 3 APU series will mix Zen 5 and Zen 5C cores, but there will be differences in configuration, IT Home attaches the above 3 series of differences as follows:
- Strix Point: 4 Zen 5 cores + 8 Zen 5C cores = 24 threads
- Kraken Point: 4 Zen 5 cores + 4 Zen 5C cores = 16 threads
- Sonoma Valley: 0 Zen 5 cores + 4 Zen 5C cores = 8 threads
The first number in the tweet represents the standard Zen 5 "Nirvana" core, and the second number represents the Zen 5C "Prometheus" core.
While both cores share the same architecture, the Zen 5C core is clocked slightly lower for efficiency. All three series of AMD Ryzen APUs will feature Zen 5C cores, but it seems that not all series will feature Zen 5 standard cores.
