On April 7, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) officially issued the EH216-S Production Certificate (PC) to Guangzhou EHang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "EHang"). This is also the first production license in the global eVTOL (vertical take-off and landing aircraft) industry, marking the first large-scale production stage of EH216-S.
The production license is an important and key certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China to aircraft manufacturers. This certification shows that EHang has established a mass production quality management system that meets the requirements of China's civil aviation airworthiness regulations, and has been approved for continuous production and mass production, which provides a strong guarantee for the quality of EHang's products.
The world's first production license for eVTOL.
Lin Heyong, Director of the Airworthiness Certification Division of the Central and South Regional Administration of Civil Aviation of China, said that in just half a year, EHang EH216-S has achieved three "world firsts" in airworthiness certification - in October 2023, the Civil Aviation Administration of China issued the world's first manned unmanned aircraft type certificate, in December 2023, the Central South Bureau of Civil Aviation issued the world's first manned unmanned aircraft standard airworthiness certificate, and in 2024, the Civil Aviation Central and South Bureau issued the world's first manned unmanned aircraft production license.
Civil aircraft can only enter the civil aviation market if they are qualified by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. In the process of production license certification, the review team was set up by the Central and South Regional Administration of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, in accordance with the airworthiness regulations "Civil Aviation Products and Parts Qualification Validation Regulations" (CCAR-21-R4) and airworthiness management procedures "Production Approval and Supervision Procedures" (AP-21-AA-2019-31), from the quality, production, testing, After sales and other dimensions, EHang conducted a comprehensive and strict document review and on-site verification review of 19 system elements of EHang's intelligent production capacity and quality management system, including organizational management, design data control, personnel capabilities and qualifications, supplier management, manufacturing process control, inspection and testing, etc.
After obtaining the world's first "three certificates", EHang will further promote large-scale production and delivery and the implementation of low-altitude economic scenarios. "The acquisition of the PC is ready for EHang to further promote the high-volume production of eVTOLs. Hu Zhihua said, "Next, we will build a model city of low-altitude economy in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hefei and other cities, launch air taxi services, and realize the scene of mobile phone air taxi in the future." ”

Hu Zhihua said that the large-scale implementation of eVTOL in the future requires the civil aviation department to accelerate the construction of the eVTOL operation system to ensure the safe and orderly operation of aircraft.
