Good news, good news for gaming fans! Recently, 9to5Mac noticed a change in Apple's developer guidelines:
Game emulators are allowed on the App Store!
This means that in the future, you will be able to play classic console games such as The Legend of Zelda, Mario, Persona, and many more on your iPhone/iPad/Mac.
You know, it wasn't easy to play emulator games on your iPhone before, and you had to go through a lot of effort to jailbreak your phone or find some irregular ways. But now, Apple's decision has made everything easier. Developers can legally list a wide variety of emulator apps on the App Store, and these apps can also offer game download services.
However, Apple also reminded developers that they have to take responsibility for the games they offer and make sure everything is legal. In other words, while the emulator can be put on the shelves, pirated games are still no fun. The developer needs to own the legal rights to the game in order to offer it for download in the emulator.
This new policy is also an opportunity for gaming companies to launch official emulators that allow us to play genuine console or PC games on iPhone/iPad. "Resident Evil" and "Death Stranding" have been released in iPhone portings, so imagine playing Cyberpunk 2077 or "That Game 6" on iPhone/iPad/Mac.
