On April 7, it was reported that on April 4, 1975, Bill Gates and his late partner Paul Allen founded a company named "Micro-Soft" in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The company then underwent a name change and became known today as Microsoft Corporation.
As a company with a global presence in the technology industry, Microsoft has gone through nearly 50 years of development since its inception, and its business has continued to expand and become increasingly prominent.
Back in late 1974, Gates and Allen shared an important article in Popular Electronics magazine about the world's first microcomputer, the Altair 8800, built by Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems (MITS) in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
They saw a potential business opportunity to develop a BASIC interpreter for the Altair 8800. Based on this vision, the two founders decided to move to Albuquerque the following year and officially formed "Micro-Soft".
In the course of nearly half a century, Microsoft has launched a number of epoch-making products and technologies, such as the Windows operating system, Office office software suite, and hardware product series including mouse and Surface. These iconic products and innovations further solidify Microsoft's leadership position in the global technology industry.
