SIENNA
In 1990, Toyota introduced the first-generation Previa, codenamed TCR10. This car is the first MPV in Toyota's history and is known as the Overlord or Bullet by fans. Although the car was a great success in the Japanese market, it was limited by its small space and low displacement, and it was unable to compete with the MPVs of the American brand in the North American market. If it wants to get a piece of the market, Toyota will have to redevelop a larger model. In this context, SIENNA was born.

1st generation SIENNA (1997-2002)
IN 1997, TOYOTA UNVEILED THE FIRST GENERATION OF SIENNA, CODENAMED XL10, AT THE NORTH AMERICAN AUTO SHOW.
THE FIRST GENERATION OF SIENNA XL10
The car is based on the Toyota Camry XV20 platform and is known as the "Camry of Mini-Vans", which translates to "Camry Mini-Van".

The XL10 is more rounded in terms of exterior design, and the front face borrows from the design style of the Camry. The length of the car is 4.84 meters, and the wheelbase is only 2.9 meters, which is actually not much more than the Overlord in terms of size.

The overall design style of the interior is similar to that of American MPVs: a shift lever with a pocket gear, and a 7-seat layout of 2+3+2. And on the high-end models, Senna's signature in-ceiling TV also appeared.

It is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine codenamed 1MZ-FE, with a maximum power of 197Ps and a peak torque of 248Nm. It is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. In addition, all models are equipped with ABS braking system as standard, and the high-spec model is equipped with ESP body stability system.

In 1999, Honda brought the second generation of the Odyssey (the first generation of the North American version) to the North American market. 2nd Generation SIENNA (2003-2009)
ON JANUARY 6, 2003, THE SECOND-GENERATION SIENNA, CODENAMED XL20, WAS UNVEILED AT THE DETROIT AUTO SHOW. This generation of the model was designed by an American team. Compared to the previous model, the body size is significantly larger: the length of the car is 5.08 meters, the wheelbase reaches 3.03 meters, and the total volume of the car is 45% higher than that of the previous model.

In terms of appearance, the front face adopts the design style of the Camry XV30 of the same period. The body is no longer as rounded as its predecessor and has become more stylish.

It is powered by a 3.3-liter V6 naturally aspirated engine codenamed 3MZ-FE with a maximum power of 225Ps and a peak torque of 325Nm, mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission.

IN 2006, THE SECOND-GENERATION SIENNA ALSO RECEIVED A MID-CYCLE FACELIFT. The facelift lengthens the body to 5.11 meters, the exterior details have also been changed, and the power system has been upgraded to a 3.5-liter V6 engine codenamed 2GR, with a maximum power of 266Ps and a peak torque of 322Nm.
This generation of SIENNA has finally been recognized by the American people, and the average annual sales can reach 150,000 units.

The third-generation SIENNA, codenamed XL30, was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in December 2009.

The car is based on the Camry XV40 platform, and the body size is not much different from the previous model. The exterior features a new exterior design: a shortened nose and a wider curve of the body accentuate the sleek styling, completely detached from the rigidity of traditional station wagons.
Luxury features such as daytime running lights, power side sliding doors, heated power seats, and second-row seats with leg rests have begun to appear on this generation of models, resulting in a significant increase in ride comfort.
In terms of power, a 2.7-liter inline four-cylinder engine codenamed 1AR can be selected, with a maximum power of 190Ps and a peak torque of 253Nm. A 3.5-liter V6 engine codenamed 2GR is also available, with a maximum power of 269Ps and a maximum torque of 332Nm. Both models are mated to a six-speed automatic manual transmission.

The XL30 has undergone several facelifts during its time in service. This includes a change to the family-style front end, the removal of the 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine, the replacement of an 8-speed automatic transmission with Aisin, and the appropriate equipment adjustments.

XL30 is the earliest Senna known by domestic friends, although there is no official introduction to the Chinese market, but it still enters the country as a parallel import car, divided into American specifications, ink version and plus version, the price of 38 to 750,000 can still attract the attention of many consumers.

At the end of 2020, the fourth-generation SIENNA based on the TNGA-K platform was released.
FOURTH GENERATION SIENNA
The length of the car is 5.18 meters, and the wheelbase reaches 3.06 meters. In terms of exterior styling, the headlights are sharp, the lower grille is exaggerated, and the front face design is aggressive. The taillights feature a similar boomerang design to the eighth-generation Camry Sport. The lines of the body are complex, but they are very muscular.
The interior design has undergone drastic changes, the overall style is more minimalist, and the texture has also been improved.
In terms of power, the whole series is equipped with a 2.5-liter dual-engine HEV hybrid system, with a combined maximum power of 248Ps, matched with an E-CVT transmission. In addition, it is equipped with the E-Four electric all-wheel drive system. The front axle is driven by a 2.5-litre engine and twin electric motors, while the rear axle is driven by an independent electric motor.
In 2021, the Chinese people are finally looking forward to the domestic production of SIENNA (Senna). GAC Toyota introduced the fourth-generation model for production and sales, and officially replaced the name "Senna" in the parallel import era with the Chinese name "Sena".

After the domestic Saina, it basically retains the flavor of the original car, and also adds practical configurations such as dual sunroofs, streaming media interior mirrors, second-row small tables, and electric adjustment of second-row seats, and replaces the central control screen with a 12-inch large screen.
After the domestic Saina was listed, the official guide price was 309,800-405,800 yuan.
However, many GAC Toyota 4S stores across the country have increased sales. The behavior of this work* has made many friends turn black against Saina. As a result, only 935 vehicles were sold in December of that year. This kind of operation makes the start of the domestic Saina not perfect.
On December 16, 2022, FAW Toyota's version of the "Sena" was launched and named "Grevia". FAW Toyota Grevia and GAC Toyota Sena are sister models. Both cars are equipped with the same powertrain, but there are slight differences in exterior styling and equipment.
The Daddy Divine Car Sena/Grevia is undoubtedly a successful model among MPVs. It has almost the same configuration as the Toyota Alpha, but the price is only half of the Alpha, making it a strong competitor to the Buick GL8.
