On April 5, "Sichuan News Network" paid attention to and reported on the acceleration of the construction of the zero-kilometer self-driving tour base camp project of the China 318 Sichuan-Tibet Line.
In mainland China, about 3.3 billion people try to travel by car every year, Ya'an relies on the positioning of "the first city of Sichuan-Tibet Railway" and "the first city of Sichuan-Tibet Highway" and the regional culture of "Jinji Pass" to develop and build the project, hoping to dig deeper into the "light off-road self-driving tour market". After the completion of the project, it will form a theme museum, a starting square, an RV camp, a gourmet cultural and creative commercial street, a comprehensive supply center, a self-driving experience area and other transportation complexes.
Seeing this, you may ask: why is this called kilometer zero?
To answer this question, we have to start with the position of Ya'an in the 318 Sichuan-Tibet Line! The Sichuan-Tibet Highway, formerly known as the Kang-Tibet Highway, started in Ya'an and ended in Lhasa, but was changed to its current name in 1955 and started from Chengdu. Therefore, historically speaking, Ya'an was the starting point of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway "at kilometer zero"!

This is a project that integrates transportation and travel, and you can experience a lot. After completion, the theme museum can let everyone understand the 318 highway culture, Ya'an local culture, ethnic corridor culture, the commercial center can provide outdoor equipment retail, sports goods supermarket, special catering and other service functions, and in the comprehensive parking lot, not only can charge new energy vehicles, camping needs drainage, electrical appliances, communications and other life-related infrastructure!
If you look closely, you will find that the design of this project is very special! The front of the departure plaza is shaped by car tires, which looks like a number O, highlighting the theme concept of the "zero" kilometer of the 318 Sichuan-Tibet line; the three-dimensional sculpture in the middle of the square expresses the cultural connotation of conquering the snow-capped mountains and the "third pole of the world"; and the commemorative stamp of the Kang-Tibet Highway on the sculpture is a commemoration of the builders of the 318 Kang-Tibet line. Looking down from the sky, climb all the way from the "O" at the door to reach the "Third Pole of the World" sculpture, which means reaching the peak.
