Before the Yongzheng Emperor was very fond of picking flowers and weeds, he once mixed with a fisherman girl in Henan, Feng Yanzhu, for many hours. After Yongzheng became emperor, he threw himself into the internal strife of the imperial family.
Half a year later, Yanzhu gave birth to a dragon and phoenix fetus, the boy was named Bao Yu, and the girl was named Mingzhu. The lover had no news at all, and after a few years, Yanzhu resolutely took her children on the road to Beijing for thousands of miles. She tried her best to inquire in the capital, and only then did she realize that what she was looking for was the long-lived grandfather of the dynasty.
Yan Zhu knows that it will not be easy to meet the emperor, so she pleads with the innkeeper who sympathizes with her and helps her meet with the chef of the imperial dining room. The imperial chef is kind and promises to help Yanzhu.
On this day, when the Yongzheng Emperor was eating, he saw the imperial chef deliver a delicious dish that had never been seen before. He was very satisfied after tasting it, so he called the imperial chef to the front to inquire about the origin. The imperial chef said that the dish was named "Palm Pearl Abalone". When Yongzheng heard the name of the dish "Pearl Abalone", he suddenly remembered the words left for Yanzhu in the past: "In the future, the name of the child is Bao Yu, and the daughter is called Mingzhu", and he thought about it in his heart.
When the imperial chef saw that the emperor was moved, he wasted no time in telling yanzhu about yanzhu and his children going to beijing to find a husband, and Yongzheng summoned yanzhu into the palace for a reunion. A delicious dish made this good story, and the Yu dish "Pearl Abalone" (also known as "Red Plum Pearl Fragrance") has been passed down ever since.
