The A4L, on the other hand, is excellent in terms of exterior design, interior space and handling, which is exactly what I was looking for.
The old car always has to burn some oil
The issue of burning engine oil seems to have become a hot topic in the automotive industry, but the major automakers and celebrities on the Internet have not come to a clear conclusion. They generally believe that a certain level of oil consumption is normal, but there are also some cases where the oil consumption of vehicles is abnormally severe. Unfortunately, after my A4 had more than 80,000 kilometers of driving, it also started to burn oil. Initially, the maintenance staff simply mentioned the problem during maintenance, saying that my car burned some oil, but it was not serious. So, I didn't pay much attention to it. After that, I took steps to increase the viscosity of the oil, and the problem seemed to be temporarily alleviated. However, when maintenance was carried out at the end of last year, a litre of engine oil was released. Although I have shortened the maintenance interval to 6-7 thousand km, the problem of burning engine oil remains.

However, he noticed a large amount of carbon deposits on the top of the piston, so he speculated that the piston ring entrapment may have caused the oil to burn. I immediately asked the master for a solution, and he told me that the only solution was to overhaul and replace the pistons. Given this situation, I think it needs to be carefully considered.
After in-depth research and many inquiries, I learned that the 2013 A4 model does have some improvements in piston design compared to the old model. Specifically, the thickness of the piston rings has been increased, and the material of the piston rings has been optimized. However, these improvements do not seem to be complete. Although the increase in thickness may have delayed the problem to some extent, it is still structurally similar to the old thin ring, resulting in the possibility of the oil ring still being blocked. It's just that the time of being clogged has been slightly delayed. So, at this critical point, my vehicle is still facing the problem of burning engine oil. This is a bit of a shame for me, as the improvements that I had hoped would have solved the problem more thoroughly.
Try to burn the engine oil without dismantling and repairing it without damage
After determining that the problem was mainly oil burn caused by piston ring seizure, I realized that I only needed to address the problem. I started looking for fuel additives that would clean the piston rings, so the PNF technology came into my sights for a no-dismantling treatment of engine oil. After many times of communication and contact with the technical customer service, I finally decided to make this plan the last choice. Although the price is higher than that of ordinary fuel additives, it is only a drop in the bucket compared to overhauls.
According to the communication with customer service, use the oil repair agent and the fuel repair agent, clean the oil sludge and dredge the oil return hole to solve the oil ring, and follow the maintenance cycle after filling.

Through the real-time observation of the endoscope, I am pleased to find that the carbon deposit clean-up work has been completed perfectly. At the same time, the performance of the oil is very stable, which is very different from the previous situation. Before, after just 2,000 kilometers of driving, the oil would sound an alarm, but now everything is normal and nothing is unusual. This gives me a lot of confidence that the oil burn problem will be completely fixed, and I am confident that the result will be perfect. Here, I would like to emphasize that burning engine oil is not an unsolvable problem, and there is no need to panic because of it. As long as we can accurately identify the key factors that cause engine oil burning, and take effective measures to solve them, this problem can be fundamentally improved.
