"Mom, where has grandma gone?" 11-year-old Xiaoyu (pseudonym) suddenly realized that he hadn't seen his grandmother who had been taking care of him for a long time.
His mother told him, "Grandma has tuberculosis and is being treated, so she can't come to see Xiaoyu." ”
More than a month later, Xiaoyu coughed non-stop, and had a low-grade fever every day after noon. After a week, his family took him to the Hangzhou Red Cross Hospital for examination. Doctors found a large effusion in his left chest cavity and diagnosed him with tuberculous pleurisy.
Coincidentally, 9-year-old Jingjing (pseudonym) was also infected with tuberculosis because one of her close family members was infected.
Spring is the peak season for tuberculosis
Who should be screened for latent TB?
In the spring, "TB Jun" loves to travel. Some of the spitting people in life have fulfilled their desire to travel. A mouthful of tuberculosis patient's sputum may carry 50 million compatriots of the "tuberculosis king".
"Tuberculosis Jun" can survive for 6-8 months in dry sputum, and as the air travels everywhere, it is almost pervasive.
Screening is required in people with HIV, close contacts of tuberculosis in adults and children, patients receiving immunosuppressant therapy, and patients on dialysis, organ transplantation, and silicosis.
Detection methods for latent tuberculosis include tuberculin skin test, interferon release test, and C-TST.

Enhance immunity, eat reasonably, supplement nutrition, ensure adequate sleep, exercise moderately, and avoid overwork.
5.
Regular physical examinations, including screening for suspicious symptoms of pulmonary tuberculosis, tuberculin skin test, chest x-ray, and sputum examination.
6.
If you have close contact with a tuberculosis patient, or have suspicious symptoms of tuberculosis, such as cough, sputum for more than two weeks, bloodshot sputum, hemoptysis, fever, night sweats, weight loss, etc., you should seek medical attention in time, make a clear diagnosis as soon as possible, and actively treat it.
