Yilan County is a provincial-level historical and cultural city with a long history of humanities. As early as 5,000 years ago, in the Neolithic period of primitive society, the ancestors of Yilan multiplied here. Since the pre-Qin period, Yilan has always been in the central area of the Sushen, Lulou, Beji, Jin, and Jurchen tribes. Yilan God of Wealth Temple, built in the 60th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1721), has experienced wind and frost for nearly 300 years, and was one of the eight temples with three surnames in the Qing Dynasty. According to the record of "Shengjing Tongzhi", the layout of this temple is unique, the main hall is spacious, the east and west side halls are symmetrical, and the gate hall and the bell and drum tower complement each other. The gatehouse is particularly elaborately designed, with a doorway in the middle and a stage on the upper floor, with a sheltered roof above the stage. On the left and right sides are the bell and drum towers, which are simple and elegant.
During the Republic of China, the side hall was occupied by the Chamber of Commerce, and it was requisitioned by the court during the puppet Manchu period. After the liberation, the fourth primary school of the county was established on the site of the Temple of Caishen. However, during the Cultural Revolution, the temple building, which carries historical memories, was unfortunately completely demolished. It was not until 2003 that Mr. Wang Qinglin, a retired cadre, purchased the four primary schools that had been discontinued, and rebuilt the Caishen Temple on the original site.
The folk customs hall in the temple treasures a wealth of folk materials and exhibits, which are like a flowing history, recording the changes of the times in the production, life, customs and culture of the people of all ethnic groups in Yilan.
Fifth, Tsz Yun Temple.
Tsz Yun Temple was founded in the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928), which was built by General Li Du, a famous anti-Japanese general in Northeast China and the warlord of the Feng Department of Yilan Town, on the basis of the Longwang Temple for his sister, and his sister Master Qinglian was the first presiding officer of Tsz Yun Temple.
The temple building sits in the north and faces south, and the layout has the main and secondary, and the hierarchy is distinct. The main building consists of 3-storey halls, namely the Four Kings Palace, the Three Temples, and the Dragon King Palace, which are neatly arranged on a central axis from south to north.
