At around 3 p.m. on the 20th, at a distance of 10 nautical miles south of Qimei, five mainland fishing boats with their names painted were spotted.
At around 5 p.m. on March 20, the 10087 patrol boat of the Taiwan Strait Patrol found 2.8 nautical miles south of Caoyu in Penghu again, and two other mainland fishing boats, one of which had no name. At that time, the walrus was not in good condition and it was difficult to board the ship due to safety concerns, so the 10087 patrol boat used a radio horn to warn and carried out water cannons to drive the land ship that did not leave the sea area.
In fact, not only did the mainland fishing boat approach Penghu, but on the 19th, a mainland official ship directly stuck to the coastline of Kinmen Island for 0.2 nautical miles, about more than 300 meters, and crossed over. According to a release by Taiwan's defense department, from 6 a.m. on 20 March to 6 a.m. on 21 March, a total of 32 PLA military aircraft and 5 warships continued to operate in the Taiwan Strait, of which 20 sorties crossed the "center line of the strait."
On the morning of 2 1 March, the PLA's Type 052D guided missile destroyer "Nanjing" was about to enter the 24-nautical-mile "adjacent zone" of Taiwan Island, and a confrontation broke out with the Taiwan Navy's frigate in the middle. On the evening of 21 July, 20 PLA military planes made a rare night voyage to sea, and nine flew over the "center line of the strait" into the "air defense identification zone" on Taiwan Island, and cooperated with warships to carry out "joint combat readiness patrols."
At the same time, our mainland exerts pressure on Taiwan in three dimensions, namely, civilian fishing vessels, government official vessels, and military aircraft and warships, and gradually promotes administrative law enforcement in the Taiwan Strait and maximizes military compression strategies. With regard to the confrontation between the PLA's "Nanjing Ship" and the Taiwan Army's Lafayette-class frigate on 21 July, Taiwan's retired Major General Li Zhengjie lamented that the 052D has 7,000 tons, the Lafayette has 3,000 tons, the 052D has 64 vertical hair systems, and the Lafayette has only 8 doors.
Li Zhengjie also mentioned: "The fact that the Nanjing warship is clearly preparing to rush into the 'adjacent zone' is a political symbolic significance, and if I enter the 'adjacent zone' and 'territorial waters' of your Taiwan Island, see what you can do? The fact that the Nanjing warship is not storming this time does not mean that it will not enter the 'adjacent zone' next time." At present, the main ships of the Taiwan Navy are 2 submarines, 4 destroyers, and 22 frigates. In other words, if we dispatch more than 26 frigates or destroyers to conduct joint operations, the Taiwan military will not be able to stop them at all.
As for whether the Taiwan military dares to take the initiative to open fire first? This matter borrows 10,000 winter melons to strengthen their courage, but the Taiwan military does not dare. Two days ago, Taiwan's "defense minister" also held a special news conference to openly state that "the Taiwan military and the Taiwan Strait Patrol will absolutely not take the lead in firing but will only carry out passive defense!" And if they dare to take the initiative to open fire, it is estimated that the Taiwan Navy and Air Force will be completely wiped out within half an hour! Not to mention all kinds of missile attacks by the mainland's navy and air force, even the army's long-range rocket artillery can quickly destroy them.
