TrendForce: Apple iPhone 16 Pro/Max all support 5x optical zoom

For its part, Apple expects to deploy the quadruple reflex prism periscope telephoto lens module, which was originally only available on the flagship iPhone 15 Pro Max models, on the iPhone 16 Pro in 2024, and all users of the Pro series will be able to enjoy this hardware upgrade.

In the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the quad prism camera system has a "foldable" design that can be mounted inside a smartphone for up to 5x optical zoom and up to 25x digital zoom.

In contrast, the smaller iPhone 15 Pro is in line with the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max and is still limited to 3x optical zoom.

IT Home quoted Ming-Chi Kuo as reporting in September last year that although the iPhone 15 Pro Max currently has a telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have this feature.
