A notice posted on the toilet
It has caused a great controversy online!
The incident started when the cleaning staff found the toilet in a mess after a particular meeting. Therefore, relevant signs were posted in the toilets, hoping that students could keep them clean.
At first glance, the behavior of the cleaning staff is also reasonable. However, the problem is that this notice is only in Chinese!
Subsequently, the notice sparked heated discussions on the school network and social media. Everyone thinks that it is highly targeted and expands to the entire Chinese/Chinese Chinese community!
Lord Simon Woolley, President of Homerton College, apologized to all students, especially those of Chinese descent. In response to students' concerns about the signs on the toilets and exit doors, he privately communicated with Chinese students, senior staff and members of the student union, promising that this would never happen again.
Homerton College was founded in 1768 as one of the 31 colleges at the University of Cambridge and offers all academic subjects. It is also the college with the largest student population and has a multicultural community.
