He Mountain is 63.8 meters above sea level, the mountain is not high, and there is a fairy name. Legend has it that in ancient times, there were cranes inhabiting here, it was a blessed land of beautiful mountains and rivers, so He Mountain was originally called "Hefu Mountain", and the cranes were the messengers of feathering and ascending immortals in Chinese Taoism. There is a Hefu Mountain Road in the southwest of Heshan today, which should be related to this.

There are records about "Er He" in classics such as "Book of Nanqi" and "Book of Liang", and the He brothers were born in a family of eunuchs, but they entered the WTO indifferently and had no interest in being officials.
Especially his younger brother He Dian, who refused to go out when he was young. The imperial court once asked him to wash the prince's horse, but he also refused. He Dian not only has good looks, but also is well-versed and good at talking. He often drove a firewood cart, wore straw sandals, did not insert hairpins, did not tie his clothes, went wherever he wanted, and went home only when he was drunk, which was the most respected attitude of the scholars and doctors at that time. He Dian was called "Tongyin" by the people of the time, and many scholars and doctors admired and followed him at that time.

After the death of his wife, he refused all official positions and returned to Gusu, and then his soul returned to Hefu. After He Qiu died, He Dian mourned for three years, during which he only ate vegetarian dishes and quit drinking, and after three years, his waist circumference was reduced by half, and it was rumored to be a beautiful talk for a while. After He Dian died, he and his brother He Qiu rested together on Hefu Mountain, and people changed the name of this mountain to He Mountain in order to commemorate these two gentlemen with high quality and open-mindedness.

There are many stone carvings in Heshan, among which the most famous is the inscription of Li Gengen, the veteran of the Xinhai Revolution, "Prince Qi washes the horse and asks for what to bury here", and there are many stone carvings that reflect the cultural heritage and geographical characteristics of Heshan, such as "Le Shou", "Xun Xian", "Song Shou", "Wangshi Terrace".
Among them, there is a stone carving called "Zhang Wang Sword Stone", the legend is that Zhang Shicheng led the soldiers to inspect He Mountain, saw a strange stone on the mountainside, suddenly had a strong idea, drew a sword and killed the stone. The whole stone is split into two between the hand knife falling, and the descendants call this stone "Zhang Wang Sword Stone". Zhang Shicheng was deeply loved by the people of Suzhou because of his good governance in Suzhou, which can also be seen from this stone.
In 1980, Heshan unearthed a tomb of Wu in the late Spring and Autumn period. A large number of bronze artifacts with different styles and exquisite craftsmanship have been excavated in Chu State, Wu Yue and other places, which provide rich cultural relics for the study of the history of Wu State in the late Spring and Autumn Period.
