I built a house in New Zealand: the garden became it

author:New Zealand's largest family

The last project we built this house, the garden, was completed.

From the beginning of the planning of this garden to the completion, there was more than half a year, during which we contacted three horticultural design and construction companies, both foreigners and Chinese, and finally settled on a Chinese horticultural company near our home, Top garden. That is, their design meets our requirements, and more importantly, we communicate smoothly, and because we live nearby, if there is any problem, they will come over quickly to discuss and solve it. From this point of view, whether it is building a house or making a garden, it is best to choose a company near your home, at least the communication is timely and smooth. Building a house or making a garden is a very personal thing, so communicate with each other and achieve a certain tacit understanding to maximize what we want.

The collaboration with Top Garden took place in mid-November, during which the Christmas and New Year's holidays were experienced, so the work was extended to three months, which had been more than a month and a maximum of two months. This is similar to building a house, which we thought could be completed in ten months at first, but eventually dragged on for a year and a half. Time is nothing, quality is the most important thing. This is true both for the house and the garden.

Unlike waiting for the house to be built, when we built the house, we lived in our own home, and we didn't seem to be so anxious about the progress of the new house, and when we built the garden, we were already living in the new house, and every day we opened the window and opened the door to face the empty loess slope, not to mention that we didn't want to go out, even the cat didn't want to go out, and Tangtang had to tiptoe to go to the toilet, and the mud was really uncomfortable.

So from the day I moved in, I thought about when the garden would be ready, and only when the garden was ready, could the house be truly built.

I want grass, I want flowers, I want trees, I want bluestone paths, and I want winding paths......

When the drawings of the Top garden came out, my imagination became even more vivid. Every day, I fantasize about the spring dawn in the south of the Yangtze River on the high slope of the loess, and the willows and flowers are bright and .......

Finally, under their hands, the garden began to appear little by little, as if by magic, and after three months, the loess slope really turned into a beautiful garden with green grass. The various plants settle in their respective areas in an orderly manner, roses bloom, hydrangeas bloom, thatch swaying, and over time they grow longer and better, denser and more layered.

The newborn garden only has a rough appearance, and only time will allow it to grow and mature, and become that kind of thick, lush garden.

It's really amazing. I admire the horticulturists' approach to turning the rotten into the magical.

Home, the attraction of the place, not only at home, but also in the garden. We always say that inside and outside the house, inside and outside the window, only inside and outside are not their home.

Gardeners can help us with this. Since then, the home is warm, the home is beautiful, and all the desires for home have been satisfied.

At this point, our new home is completely complete.

If you want to renovate your garden, you can contact Top garden. Their design and construction team is quite professional.

Originally, we also wanted to make two fences on the edge of the tool room to grow vegetables, but then we saw that they had laid granite on them, and it would be a pity to plant vegetables on them, so we moved the rocking chair and swung it there, perfect. It was nice to be able to sit in a rocking chair and look at the garden and see our house. This is also crooked.

We have never grown vegetables well, and God has taken pity on us, saying, forget it, don't try to plant it, just put a rocking chair on it, and let you lie down completely. In fact, where we lie flat, that's where our cats lie flat.

In short, my last ambition to grow vegetables was completely suspended. admit it, there are three unsatisfactory people in life, and growing vegetables and making steamed buns is two of them. Never Xue Buhui (can't learn).

The next step is to perfect our garden. For example, art ornaments in the garden, lawn lamps, etc., add to our garden.

By the way, we went and bought an oak barrel with the aroma of wine, which was shipped from the South Island winery. Every year, the winery knocks out a batch of oak barrels, like the one we bought this time, which has been stored for three years. In more sophisticated wineries, after three years of wine in oak barrels, the flavor of the wine from the barrels begins to fade, so the barrels are changed. These valuable barrels (worth about 1,200 dollars each) are not discarded, but are sold to those who like them for outdoor decorations, such as tables. Some of the barrels were sawn in half and turned into two large wooden pots, which were excellent for planting flowers and everything.

If the half-sawn oak barrels are sold at the Garden Supermarket, one is 250 New Zealand dollars, about 1200 yuan, and our retired wine barrel is a whole barrel, only 270 New Zealand dollars, which is very cost-effective. When we came back, our car was full of the aroma of wine, and that's how the feeling of being slightly drunk came. Very good smell.

Now this wine barrel is placed on the deck in the front garden, and when you are relaxing, you can move two chairs to sit on the side of this large barrel and drink wine or something.

Huang's father said that this vat is the treasure of our family's townhouse. Yes, that's right, this big guy squatting on the deck, just like our Chinese stone lions, is a symbol of weight and majesty, but ours has a more romantic taste, which is the lingering aroma of wine.

By the way, our cats had gone out for a walk, and though they were still cautious, as soon as their feet stepped on the green grass, I knew that their four months of confinement had finally come to an end.

Do it and cherish it. It's the same for this home, it's for this garden, it's the same for our days to come.

Autumn is just around the corner in New Zealand, followed by winter and then spring. In the future, you can see the changes of the seasons in our garden, which is as beautiful as the old garden.

Many friends said that they still like the garden of our old home. Yes, that's our twenty years of hard work, and now this garden, it doesn't need much, it only needs another three years, and that's very different from now.

The garden changes in time, please give them time, we will wait, wait for the four seasons to pass, those wonderful purple and red.
