Aston Martin has just unveiled the all-new 2025 Vantage GT, but it's not done yet. The track version is also here, the new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 car, which will take to Le Mans and all the famous endurance races in 2024. The new Vantage GT3 race car uses the same 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine as the road Vantage, which of course is subject to the track's performance balance rules, so the 656 hp figure for the new Vantage GT sports car does not apply here. It only has 536 horsepower, yes, less than the road version.
Now take a look at the Vantage GT3's aggressive aerodynamic package, which was designed to address the "more challenging handling characteristics of the old car", which sank significantly when braking, so it was necessary to try to control the pitch with the rear suspension settings. These characteristics have been corrected in the new model, and after an extensive development program, the feedback from the driver has been very positive, and the car is described as "without any shortcomings" and very forgiving.
Aston Martin has found a better balance with the new car after extensive shock tuning, so it can generate downforce without affecting the suspension settings. With the extensive use of CFD to extract more downforce without increasing drag, the grille is wider and more air can be channeled to the brakes to help with cooling. The result is a much improved progress and increased stability in all conditions.
The nose is a single-piece clamshell made entirely of carbon fiber with a shorter diverter that moves the center of pressure backwards to reduce pitch sensitivity and improve stability. Cutouts at the top of the front and rear wheel arches allow high-pressure air to escape, reducing lift and making the Vantage more slippery.
At the same time, the suspension has also been significantly revised, with front and rear double wishbones, adjustable anti-roll bars and five-way adjustable dampers. Alcon brakes are six-can front calipers and four-can rear calipers, both of which fit snugly against ventilated discs. This year, we will be taking a look at it and its huge tail wing at a series of international races such as the Le Mans Series and the Nürburgring Langstrecken Series.
