The formation of salt lakes is the product of the movement of matter in a specific area and at a specific stage in nature. In order for a salt lake to form, the following three conditions must be met:
1. Dry climate and favorable physical and chemical environment; (2) There is a suitable closed-flow or semi-closed-flow lake basin;
The closed terrain allows surface and underground runoff energy in the basin to flow to the lake without leaking water.
Salt is continuously transported from the watershed to the lake through runoff, and in arid or semi-arid climates, the amount of water evaporated from the lake is often greater than the amount of water recharged by the lake, so that over time, the lake becomes more salty and the salt accumulates.
Over time, the salinity in the water becomes saturated or supersaturated, and a variety of salt deposits form on the shores and bottom of the lake.
In the hinterland of the desert, due to the extremely dry climate, there is no rain or scarce precipitation throughout the year, there is no runoff on the surface, and the salt is scattered, which is also not conducive to the formation of salt lakes.
