According to Myanmar media reports, people in the area informed that the armed forces had dismantled the mines laid at the exit of Xibu Township, the Modiei Bridge on the Xib-Nandu Highway and the surrounding areas under the jurisdiction of Xibu Township.
After the demolition of the Mo Diei Bridge on December 28, 2023, in order to continue traffic, the people in the area used wooden planks to repair the damaged area, but some organizations planted mines in and around the bridge. Subsequently, a tractor and a vehicle crushed landmines in and around the Modiei Bridge, causing casualties. For this reason, the people of the region have issued a plea for the removal of landmines.
Regarding the removal of landmines, a person in charge of the armed forces said that because of the mines from time to time, people did not dare to come and go, and put forward a request to remove the mines, so we went to check, found 5 mines, and then reported, the higher authorities sent people to dismantle, a total of 7 mines were found and removed, and now there are no mines, and it is safe to come and go.
It is not known which organization planted the mine.
