After the router is reset, all configuration parameters are deleted, so the router cannot access the Internet. At this time, you only need to log in to the settings page of the router with a computer or mobile phone, and follow the step-by-step instructions on the page to set it up to surf the Internet.
Tips:
(1) Computers and mobile phones can be set up to access the Internet on the router, considering that some users do not have a computer at home, so Brother Hong will demonstrate below, after a router is reset, use the mobile phone to set it up to surf the Internet.
(2) There will be some differences in the content displayed in the settings interface of different brands of routers, but they are generally the same. Since TP-Link routers are used a lot, Brother Hong also uses a TP-Link router to demonstrate.
Setup Steps:
1. First of all, you need to check whether the network cable connection on the router is correct, because if the network cable is connected incorrectly, the router will not be able to access the Internet. The correct connection method for the router's Internet cable interface is as follows:
If the modem is not used for broadband, connect the broadband network cable or the network port on the wall to the WAN port of the router.
If you have a computer that needs to access the Internet, you can use a network cable to connect the computer to any LAN port on the router, and the connection diagram is as follows:
Caution:
At present, some routers support the WAN/LAN adaptive function, that is, they do not distinguish between WAN ports and LAN ports, and the network cable interfaces on it can be connected at will without worrying about errors. In this case, please ignore the above and simply connect.
2. In the label on the back (bottom) of the router, check the login address and default wifi information of the router, as shown in the figure below.
3. Connect your phone to your router's default wifi network.
Caution:
When you use your phone to set up a router to surf the Internet, you don't need your phone to be on the Internet, as long as your phone is connected to the router's wifi signal, your phone can set up the router. Novices, novice users, please remember this, don't think that if your phone can't access the Internet, you can't set up a router.
4. After most routers are reset, after the phone is connected to its default wifi network, it will automatically pop up the settings page in the phone's browser;
If the settings page does not pop up in the browser of your phone, enter the login address (management address) found in Step 2 in the browser to manually open the settings screen of the router.
5. Next, the router will automatically detect the broadband Internet access mode, wait for a few seconds, and set the Internet access parameters according to the detection result.
(1) If it is detected that the Internet access mode is: broadband dial-up Internet access (PPPoE dial-up, ADSL dial-up); On the page, you need to fill in the broadband account number and broadband password provided by the operator, as shown in the following figure.

If you don't remember, you can call the operator's customer service number and contact the customer service for inquiry or reset.
(2) If the system detects the Internet mode: automatically obtain the IP address (dynamic IP, DHCP Internet access), then there is no need for any operation in the page, just click: Next, as shown in the following figure. There are some brands of routers that will automatically enter the wifi settings page when they detect that the Internet access method is automatically obtained (dynamic IP), and there is no need to manually click Next.
(3) If the Internet access mode is detected: fixed IP address (static IP); On the page, you need to fill in the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, preferred DNS server, and alternate DNS server provided by the carrier.
6. Set the wireless name and wireless password (wifi name, wifi password) of the router according to the prompts on the page, as shown in the figure below.
7. A prompt message will be displayed on the page, indicating that the setting is complete, and you can close the setting page.
8. After completing the setting, the default wifi signal of the router will disappear, and the phone needs to be connected to the newly set wifi, and you can surf the Internet after connecting.
